14th August Celebration at Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, Dadu

Today was a profoundly special occasion as we celebrated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day at Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, Dadu ,with our exceptionally talented children.

The program commenced with the National Anthem, instilling a deep sense of pride and patriotism. The children then brought the event to life with their remarkable energy and enthusiasm.

The celebration featured a vibrant display of creativity through art, drawing, and coloring activities, showcasing the children’s unique talents. The highlight of the day was the
cake-cutting ceremony, where shared smiles reflected the true spirit of unity and togetherness.

This Independence Day, these inspiring children reminded us that physical or psychological challenges do not define potential. Every artwork, every song, and every smile reinforced an important message: true independence lies in inclusion, compassion, and empowering every individual to achieve their dreams.

Independence Day Celebrations Held at DEPD Al-Asar Rehabilitation Centre, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, August 14, 2026: The DEPD Al-Asar Rehabilitation Centre, Hyderabad, organized a special Independence Day celebration with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and active participation from children with disabilities, their parents, staff members, and distinguished guests.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag at the premises of DEPD Al-Asar Rehabilitation Centre. The national anthem was also observed with respect and dignity, creating a proud and inspiring atmosphere among all participants.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Mr. Muhammad Imtiaz Khan, Regional Director Hyderabad, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD). Mr. Nisar Ahmed Solangi, GSE&RC GOR Colony Chairman and President of Al-Asar Welfare Organization, also attended the ceremony along with representatives, staff, beneficiaries, and their parents.
On the occasion, the distinguished guests interacted with the beneficiaries and their parents and reviewed the rehabilitation services being provided at the centre. The Regional Director appreciated the efforts of DEPD Al-Asar Rehabilitation Centre and the Al-Asar Welfare Organization for their continued commitment to the welfare, education, rehabilitation, and empowerment of children with disabilities.
During the interaction, parents shared their experiences regarding the services being provided to their children. They expressed satisfaction with the rehabilitation facilities, support services, educational activities, and professional care available at the centre. The parents also appreciated the efforts of the management, therapists, and staff for working continuously for the development and well-being of the children.
The Regional Director encouraged the staff and management to continue providing quality rehabilitation services and to create further opportunities for children with disabilities to participate confidently in educational, social, cultural, and community activities. He emphasized the importance of inclusion, equal opportunities, and collective efforts to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities.
The Independence Day program also featured a cake-cutting ceremony, which was a joyful moment for the children, parents, guests, and staff. The children participated enthusiastically in the celebrations, creating a pleasant and memorable atmosphere at the centre.
The event highlighted the message that the progress of Pakistan is closely connected with the inclusion and empowerment of every member of society, including persons with disabilities. The celebration also provided an opportunity to recognize the abilities, talents, and potential of children with disabilities and to promote a more inclusive and supportive society.
At the conclusion of the event, the management of DEPD Al-Asar Rehabilitation Centre and Al-Asar Welfare Organization thanked the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, parents, faculty members, staff, and all participants for their valuable presence and support. The management reaffirmed its commitment to continuing quality rehabilitation, and support services for children with disabilities.
The Independence Day celebration concluded in a spirit of unity, happiness, patriotism, and renewed commitment towards building an inclusive Pakistan where persons with disabilities are provided equal opportunities to learn, grow, participate, and contribute to society.

Al Asar Welfare Organization (Partner organisation of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities & Jejal Mau Institute Sign MoU to Empower PWDs and CWDs Through Institutional Exchange, Internships and Inclusive Development

Hyderabad:

Al Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO) and Jejal Mau Institute have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration, promoting exchange of knowledge and expertise, and creating greater opportunities for the empowerment, rehabilitation, education and social inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Children with Disabilities (CWDs).

The MoU establishes a framework for institutional exchange, capacity building, professional learning, knowledge sharing and collaborative initiatives focused on improving services and opportunities for persons with disabilities.
A significant component of the partnership is the development of internship and practical learning opportunities for students and young professionals. Through institutional exposure, students will have opportunities to gain practical experience in disability rehabilitation, inclusive education, community engagement, disability-related programs and professional service delivery, while contributing to meaningful initiatives for PWDs and CWDs.
The collaboration will also encourage stronger coordination and engagement with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, with a focus on disability-related policies, rehabilitation programs, institutional practices and initiatives designed to advance the rights, dignity, accessibility and participation of persons with disabilities.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the bridge between education, rehabilitation, professional development and disability policy, while encouraging institutions to work collectively toward improved services and greater inclusion.

Al Asar Welfare Organization reaffirmed its commitment to working with educational institutions, government departments, professionals, students and community stakeholders to promote a society where every person with a disability has the opportunity to learn, develop, participate and live with dignity.
The organization believes that meaningful institutional partnerships are not merely agreements on paper they are a pathway toward practical action, stronger services, skilled professionals and a more inclusive future for PWDs and CWDs.

Visit to DEPD–Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, Hyderabad

GSE&RC PD ID Principal Mr Nasir Solangi sb along with Students and Faculty Members Visit DEPD–Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, Hyderabad and celebrated Independence day,
The students and faculty members of GSE&RC PD ID Hyderabad, visited the DEPD–Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, Hyderabad, as part of an inspiring and meaningful educational and institutional exchange.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to watch the movie “Sitare Zameen Par,” organized by the Al-Asar Welfare Organization. The movie beautifully highlighted the abilities, emotions, challenges, and potential of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down syndrome.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the movie and were deeply inspired by its message. Their smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm made the visit a memorable and joyful experience.
The visit also strengthened the collaboration between GSE&RC PD ID and DEPD–Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center, providing an opportunity for students and faculty members to share experiences, promote inclusion, and learn from one another.
We sincerely appreciate Al-Asar Welfare Organization and the DEPD–Al-Asar Rehabilitation Center for their warm hospitality and for organizing such a meaningful and inspiring activity. 🌟 Success Story of the Month – Falak Shifa 🌟

Falak Shifa (4 years), diagnosed with Developmental Delay, came to Al Asar Rehabilitation Center, Dadu unable to sit, stand, or walk independently. She also had poor balance, weak gross motor skills, and a fear of falling.

After 33 dedicated Physical Therapy sessions under Dr. Faiza Zaffar, Alhamdulillah, Falak now sits independently, stands with better balance, walks with minimal support, and can walk in the parallel bars without any support. Her confidence and gross motor skills have improved significantly, and her fear of falling has greatly reduced.

💙 Every milestone is a step toward independence. Early intervention, consistent physiotherapy, and family support truly make a difference.

Success Story – Aqsa Soomro

Aqsa Soomro (18), diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Developmental Delay, initially had poor balance, severe joint stiffness, fear of walking, and needed close support while using a walker.

With consistent physical therapy, Aqsa has made remarkable progress. She can now walk independently with a walker, has improved balance and posture, reduced joint stiffness, and greater confidence in mobility.

The DEPD–Al Asar Rehabilitation Center, Hyderabad conducted a Parental Counseling and Nutritional Awareness Activity as part of its newly initiated Nutrition Component, aimed at strengthening public health and promoting the overall well-being of children and families. During the session, parents were provided with practical nutritional counseling and individualized diet-planning guidance, with a focus on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, food safety, hygiene, and appropriate nutritional practices for children. The activity also emphasized the important role of parents in supporting healthy growth, development, and recovery through proper nutrition. Through the newly introduced Nutrition Component, Al Asar Welfare Organization continues its commitment to integrating nutrition with rehabilitation services and creating greater awareness among families for healthier and better lives.
