🌿 Environmental Pollution & Tree Plantation Campaign

Event: World Environment Day

Venue: Baahum Disabled Persons Center, Hyderabad

Partner Organization: Humanitarian Organization for Sustainable Development Pakistan (HOSDP)

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Sohni Dharti Youth Council organized a meaningful awareness and tree plantation program at Baahum Disabled Persons Center, Hyderabad. The program focused on the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the importance of planting trees to protect our environment. Many social workers, community leaders, and organizations of persons with disabilities joined the event.

🎯 Purpose of the Program:
To raise awareness about plastic pollution and harmful gases
To discuss the rising temperature due to pollution
To promote planting trees in communities
To include persons with disabilities in environmental efforts

📢 Key Messages from Speakers:
🔹 Mukhtiar Ahmed Khan (Chairman, Sohni Dharti Youth Council):

“Plastic pollution is releasing dangerous gases into the air. These gases stop the sun’s heat from leaving the Earth, which causes global warming. We must reduce plastic use and promote eco-friendly bags made of cloth or paper.”

🔹 Romas Bhatti (Program Manager, HOSDP):

“HOSDP is always ready to support environmental activities. We believe in sustainable development and living in harmony with nature. We also want to educate people about the environment.”

🔹 Abdul Mateen Khan (General Secretary, Welfare Organization for Disabled Persons):

“Persons with disabilities are also part of this movement. We want to help protect the Earth and give a healthy and safe environment to future generations.”

🔹 Muhammad Rafiq Rajput (President):

“Environmental protection is not only the duty of NGOs. The local government must also work with social organizations. We should live a balanced life with nature, not just fight pollution.”

🌱 Tree Plantation Activity:
At the end of the event, neem trees were planted at the center. All participants took a pledge to plant trees in their communities and raise awareness among others.

🌟 Graceful Youm-e-Takbir Commemoration 🌟

Under the Saiban-e-Pakistan campaign, with the support of the Humanitarian Organization for Sustainable Development Pakistan (HOSDP PAKISTAN), Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), and The Hunar Foundation, a memorable Youm-e-Takbir event was organized at FGA Church, Hyderabad, Sindh.

The event was led by Mr. Romas Bhatti, a Catholic youth leader and dedicated volunteer of Saiban-e-Pakistan, whose passion and leadership made the event a great success.

Special participation: Inspector Sadaf Rubab – Incharge Women and Children Protection Cell, DIG Range Office – who expressed her commitment to protecting women and children, and appreciated the role of minorities in promoting national unity.

This day symbolizes Pakistan’s independence, strong defense, and national solidarity. The role of non-Muslim Pakistanis was proudly acknowledged, recognizing their important contributions to the country’s development and progress.

🚭 Awareness Session: Quit Smoking – Live a Better Life
📅 Date: 21st May 2025
📍 Location: Village Vasandas, Tando Muhammad Khan Road, Hyderabad

An awareness session was organized by the Humanitarian Organization for Sustainable Development Pakistan (HOSDP) in collaboration with the Alternative Research Initiative (ARI). The session was led by Program Manager Romas Bhatti, who also participated actively in the discussions.

👥 More than 40 male and female participants attended the session, where they were informed about the harmful effects of to***co use and the benefits of adopting a healthier lifestyle.

🗣️ Activities Included:
✔️ Health awareness talks by medical professionals
✔️ Group discussions with community members
✔️ Distribution of educational brochures and materials
✔️ Personal pledges taken by participants to quit smoking

On May 4, 2025, HOSDP actively participated in the "Dialogue on Skills Development and Economic Empowerment" held in Christian Colony, Hyderabad. This dialogue was part of an important project supported by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The aim of the project is to economically empower the underprivileged communities of Punjab and Sindh through technical and vocational training. The project is being implemented locally by The Hunar Foundation (THF).

The main objective of the program is to provide modern education, technical skills, and employment opportunities to minority and disadvantaged communities so they can become self-reliant and contribute positively to national development.

Alternative Research Initiative (ARI), in collaboration with Humanitarian for Organization Sustainable Development Pakistan, conducted a comprehensive community awareness session on the dangers of smoking. The session was held at Caritas Hall, Hyderabad, and saw participation from individuals representing various sectors, including community leaders, civil society members, journalists, transgender activists, lawyers, students, and other professionals.

The primary objective of this session was to educate the public about the harmful effects of smoking and to***co use. Speakers emphasized the severe health risks associated with smoking and underscored the need for immediate awareness and intervention strategies to curb to***co use among young individuals.
