Discover the Secrets of Seed Embryo Growth
The seed embryo is the young, developing plant within a seed. It consists of the radicle (future root), hypocotyl (stem), cotyledons (seed leaves), and the plumule (shoot tip). These components will grow into the plant's root system, stem, and leaves once germination begins.

Need of Water in Seed Germination

Seed germination requires a combination of specific conditions. These include:

1. Water: Seeds need adequate moisture to activate enzymes and soften the seed coat.
2. Oxygen: Seeds need oxygen to undergo cellular respiration and generate energy.
3. Temperature: Seeds germinate within an optimal temperature range, which varies by species (e.g., some seeds germinate at low temperatures, while others require warmth).
4. Light: Some seeds require light exposure to germinate (e.g., lettuce, alfalfa), while others prefer darkness (e.g., beans, peas).
5. Soil (or substrate): Seeds need a medium to anchor their roots and support growth.

Need of a seed to Germinate
To germinate, a seed requires specific conditions: moisture, oxygen, and the right temperature. Moisture softens the seed coat, oxygen supports cellular respiration, and temperature influences metabolic rates. These conditions activate the seed's metabolic pathways, leading to the growth of the embryonic plant.

Inertia

Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of motion or rest.
When you sway a cloth in the air and the dust on it gets blown away while the cloth itself remains intact, this demonstrates inertia. Due to their inertia, the dust particles tend to remain at rest as the fabric suddenly moves, causing them to get left behind and blown away by the air.
What is Inertia?

Inertia is a fancy word that means "laziness" in a way! It's a property of objects that means they like to keep doing what they're already doing.

Newton's First Law

A long time ago, a scientist named Sir Isaac Newton discovered that objects like to keep their state of motion. This means that if something is moving, it will keep moving until something else stops it. And if something is still, it will stay still until something else makes it move!

Examples

- When you're on a bike and you take your feet off the pedals, the bike keeps moving because of inertia!
- When you're in a car and it suddenly stops, you might feel like you're still moving forward because of inertia!
- Even a ball will keep rolling on the ground until something (like friction) slows it down!
