HUMBLE BEGINNINGS:
During devastating floods of 2010 which played havoc with lives and property in the entire country in general and within the KPK in particular, RNDP conducted a survey of the affected villages of Tehsil Pabbi, District Nowshera, situated on the banks of River Indus, on war footing. After having ascertained complete record of minors and adult members of each affected household, cash was distributed so as to enable and capacitate the most vulnerable keeping in perspective the holy month of Ramazan and the joyous occasion of Eid ul Fitr. RNDP arranged empty bottles from the Industrial Area of Hayatabad, Peshawar, and made arrangement for uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water for the affected people of Tehsil Pabbi, who had taken refuge in the Khattak Nama. ACHIEVEMENT:
We are proud that our first project of public utility i.e., Markazi Eid Gah, covering an area of 80 marlas, at village Dag Ismail Khel, has been completed within three years. Construction work was completed with the help of donations received from individual philanthropists on a site that was dedicated/donated as religious endowment by the family of RNDP Chairman and with major contribution amounting to Rs. 8.0 million (approx) received under the developmental funds at the discretion of the local ex-MNA. A water logged land previously used as water reservoir for cattle was thus converted into a Markazi Eid Gah; hence a facility that can today accommodate 5,000 faithful on Eid Days and about 10,000 people for funeral prayers. Needless to mention, it gives us immense pleasure to see hundreds and thousands of people converging on this venue from all parts of the village and beyond for Eid congregations, besides having permanently established the same as the sole facility for offering funeral prayers. FUTURE PLANS:
RNDP has its sights set on establishing “Cluster Based IT Centers” at Government High/Higher Secondary Schools in the entire KPK with the aim to provide free IT education to school boys and girls of 9th and 10th Classes. Cluster Based IT Centers shall be advantageous as far as its manageability is concerned. Students of 5 or 6 schools in the surrounding areas shall attend the classes in the IT Center on their reserved days. Our aim is to disseminate IT education throughout the province free of cost. Besides, we plan to train Master Trainers of Government High Schools so that each High or Higher Secondary School run by government may have an IT Lab of its own in the future. Paperwork for the same has already been completed and all that is required now for implementation is two spare rooms in a centrally located Government High/Higher Secondary School. With help from our donors, an IT Center will then be established there. Such IT Centers shall provide IT education to private students for nominal fees after school has been closed, to cover its operational costs. BENEFITS:
• The project shall not only be cost effective but will raise standard of education of Government Schools significantly within the shortest time.
• As such enrolment in Government High Schools shall increase.
• Additionally, colleges and universities of KPK shall have entry of IT literate students from Government Schools who shall be well equipped to meet stringent standards of higher education.
