CIVIC Day Celebration in Karimabad, Lower Chitral
On the occasion of Global Ismaili CIVIC Day 2025, the Scouts and Guides of Karimabad, Lower Chitral actively participated by planting trees and conducting a community cleanliness drive.

This year’s theme, “Serving Humanity: Protecting the Earth, Building Resilience,” highlights our shared responsibility to care for the environment and strengthen our communities.

The celebration not only reflects the spirit of volunteerism and service but also emphasizes the significance of CIVIC Day as a reminder of our civic duties, environmental stewardship, and collective efforts toward a sustainable future.

Meet Zia Ullah, a passionate leader and dedicated member of Karimabad Boy Scouts and a student at the AKU Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He is currently representing Pakistan with pride in Sri Lanka through AIESEC, a global youth-led organization!

Zia is volunteering with Mihithala Mithuro (Friends of the Earth) in Olaboduwa Village, where he’s actively working to raise awareness about culture, heritage, and environmental conservation among local communities.

His journey is a beautiful reminder that no matter where we come from, the language of humanity is universal.

“فانوس” عربی زبان کا لفظ ہے جس کے معنی ہیں چراغ یا روشنی کا مینار۔ اس کی جڑیں عظیم اسماعیلی فاطمی دور حلافت (10ویں سے 12ویں صدی عیسوی) سے جڑی ہوئی ہیں۔ فاطمی خلافت، جسے اسلامی تاریخ کا سنہرا دور قرار دیا جاتا ہے، میں فانوس نہ صرف روشنی کا ذریعہ تھا بلکہ علم، ہدایت اور روحانی بیداری کی علامت بھی تھا۔ رمضان المبارک کے مقدس مہینے میں یہ فانوس قاہرہ، تیونس اور دیگر فاطمی شہروں کی گلیوں اور علمی مراکز میں روشن کیے جاتے تھے، جو تاریکی میں نور بن کر چمکتے تھے۔

آج کا فانوس اسی روایت کا تسلسل ہے، جسے جدید دور میں اسماعیلی برادری کے “گلوبل انکاؤنٹرز پروگرام” کے تحت دنیا بھر کی جماعتوں میں روشناس کرایا جا رہا ہے۔ اس کا مقصد نوجوان نسل کو اپنی روحانی و ثقافتی جڑوں سے جوڑنا اور عالمی سطح پر اتحاد، خدمت اور امن کا پیغام پھیلانا ہے۔
یہ فانوس مختلف براعظموں کا سفر طے کر کے لوئر چترال پہنچا ہے۔ افریقہ، یورپ، شمالی امریکہ، وسطی ایشیا اور جنوبی ایشیا میں اس کی زیارت کروائی گئی، جہاں ہر مقام پر لوگوں نے اپنی مقامی ثقافت، محبت اور عقیدت سے اس کی پذیرائی کی۔ ہر جگہ اس فانوس نے اتحاد، اُمید، اور ایمان کی روشنی پھیلائی۔

یہ فانوس اب اپنے عالمی سفر کی آخری منزل، دبئی کی طرف روانہ ہو رہا ہے، جہاں اسے “گلوبل انکاؤنٹرز” کے شاندار اختتامی پروگرام میں پیش کیا جائے گا۔ اس عالمی تقریب میں دنیا بھر سے ہزاروں اسماعیلی نوجوان، رہنما، اور فنکار شرکت کریں گے، جو ایمان، ثقافت، اور جدیدیت کے سنگم پر ایک عظیم الشان جشن منائیں گے۔

We are proud to share that six dedicated scouts from Karimabad have successfully completed the 3-day Scouts Conference held in Booni. The conference brought together scout members from across the region to engage in a series of training sessions, discussions, and hands-on activities focused on leadership, community service, environmental awareness, and the core values of scouting.

Throughout the event, our scouts actively participated in workshops, team-building exercises, and knowledge-sharing sessions that reinforced the spirit of unity, discipline, and service. The conference served as a platform to enhance scouting skills, foster cross-district friendships, and prepare youth to take on greater roles in their communities.

We congratulate our scouts on this achievement and commend their enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the scouting movement. Their participation is a proud moment for Karimabad and a testament to the growing impact of youth engagement in community development.
