This thinking led them to found an organization to achieve their goals in
a systematic and organized way. So the pioneers formed a body to perform the necessary task. Soon it was decided to get this body register as an NGO with the Social Welfare Department of the Govt. of the Punjab. The NGO was named “AL-Kousar Children, youth and Women Welfare Organization” by the unanimous vote of the members of the body. On 16th May 1997 “ Al Kousar Children, Youth and Women Welfare Organization” was duly registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Govt. of Punjab under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Act, 1961 (XLVI of 1961). To get the opportunity to reach other districts of Punjab for development activities, the Executive Body of Al Kousar decided to get registration under Societies act 1860. After applying, Al Kousar has got the certificate of Registration from “Registrar Joint Stock Companies”. Having Registration No. RP/538-L/S/2002/742 dated 28-06-2002. Various donors such as PSDF, UNICEF, TVO Trust For Voluntary Organizations, the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), DFID Department for International Development and UNDP United Nations Development Program have provided financial assistance to Al-Kousar for different projects on education and literacy in District Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan since 1997.
