TURKWA (Turk Welfare Association) is nonprofit, nongovernmental, voluntary organization with its own board working to create a lasting change in the lives of the weaker section of the society. TURKWA intends to promote a process that ensures people's empowerment, social uplift and better quality of life in Pakistan. rength of its members, TURKWA is aiming to adopt a versatile approach to achieve an all-round progress of the society. TURKWA is a registered with government of Pakistan. TURKWA AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The Different fields in which the enthusiastic members of TURKWA have vowed to work can be summarized as follows:
Infrastructure: to launch programs in collaboration with Local/International NGOs and Government of Pakistan for the improvement of basic infrastructure in rural areas of the country. Livelihood: to support the livelihood security of the beneficiaries by helping the community move towards self sufficiency, promoting local products and facilitating the sharing and development skills and knowledge through vocational training programs. Education: to bring quality education within the reach of beneficiaries by improvement of existing education facilities and by induction of new programs in collaboration with local/international NGOs and Government of Pakistan. Healthcare: to work toward the improvement of basic health facilities and launch of special programs for mother and child healthcare. To create the means for providing medical assistance to the people suffering from diseases, especially for helpless people. Women Welfare: to work for uplifting the status of women in the society by providing equal opportunities in the field of education healthcare and employment. General Welfare: to convene meetings and to act as a forum for the exchange of information, views and solving matter of common interest i.e. arranging marriages, unemployment, welfare of widows, orphans, and poor. To provide help to people suffering from Natural calamities such as flood, Earthquakes, motor accidents etc. To provide free legal advice to poor people. To create awareness among the people regarding harmful diseases. To educate people against taking drugs. To fight against exploitation, injustice and corruption if found against any individual, class, community in the society. To educate the people for adoption of the good norms of a good citizenship and to inculcate into the people's mind, ideals of national unity. To provide help/shelter/facilities for old people, children and disabled persons for their welfare. To organize forums, seminars, camps etc for spreading good living habits, moral values and methods of developing self confidence etc and to create centers throughout the country for the above activities. To undertake any other work or assignment which may be for the general welfare of the people
Crime Prevention: to liaise with Government authorities for crime prevention. Networking/Communication: to support other NGOs working in Pakistan by exploring opportunities of mutual social work. Fund Raising: to raise funds through collection, donation or subscription and other means and invest money or incur expenditure in such manner as shall promote the attainment of aims and objectives of TURKWA.
