ICYMI: JCI Senate Zamboanga, Inc. Hosts the Area Launch of the Prestigious TOFIL Award 2025

JCI Senate Zamboanga, Inc. played host to the highly anticipated Area Launch of The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL) Award 2025 on June 4, 2025. This prestigious event brought together esteemed guests, including JCI Sen. Rey Felix C. Rafols, National Chairperson of TOFIL 2025, and JCI Sen Rodolfo F. Saavedra II, National Chairperson of TOFIL 2024, among others.

The ceremony was attended by local chapter presidents of JCI Philippines, distinguished friends from the academe, representatives from media partners, the government sector, and stakeholders, all of whom gathered to celebrate the search for the next batch of exceptional Filipinos who have made significant contributions to society.

TOFIL, an annual search organized by the JCI Senate Philippines, aims to recognize and honor outstanding Filipinos who embody the values of leadership, service, and excellence. The award seeks to inspire others to follow in the footsteps of these remarkable individuals, fostering a culture of service and greatness in the Philippines. This year, the award is co-presented by the Ropali Group of Companies.

The Area Launch in Zamboanga City marked a significant milestone in the journey towards the national search and recognition of this year's TOFIL winners. It highlighted the city's rich cultural heritage and its people's unwavering commitment to excellence and community service.

Project WATCH: Celebrating Time Consciousness and Honesty 🕒️

JCI Senate Zamboanga, Inc. is thrilled to share the highlights of its Project WATCH activities at Guisao Elementary School. Project WATCH is a national flagship program of JCI Senate Philippines aimed at restoring back and strengthening the value of punctuality and honesty as essential elements for success.

The Revitalization of Project WATCH in schools in Zamboanga City was chaired and vice-chaired by JCI Sen. Jerico E. Coronel, JGF and JCI Sen. Belen G. Apolinario, JGF, respectively. Together with 2025 Chapter President Mayer E. Delgado JGF, the chapter was welcomed by Guisao Elementary School Principal Mr. Raul I. Apolinario, the teaching and non-teaching staff, the parents and students at the said school. Joining them in the meaningful occasion is Dr. Norma T. Francisco, Mercedes District Public Schools Supervisor, DepEd Zamboanga City.

Setting the tone for a meaningful celebration, the day started with a patriotic flag-raising ceremony. Thereafter, the WATCH revitalization initiative was launched in conjunction with the school’s opening salvo of the World Teachers' Day celebration. Project WATCH Ambassadors for each grade level were then recognized and awarded inspiring their peers to embody time consciousness and honesty.

JCI Senate Zamboanga, Inc. awarded the Early Bird student and teacher who exemplified punctuality on that day. The organization officially turned over Project WATCH clocks to the school, promoting time consciousness and responsibility. The activity culminated with the Tiendita de Honesto visitation as it reinforced the value of honesty in the daily lives of the students at Guisao Elementary School.

Throwback to the Green Link Program of JCI Senate Zamboanga's NARRA - Nurture, Aspire, Restore, Renew, Afforest!

The JCI Senate Zamboanga (JCISZ), in coordination with the City Government of Zamboanga through the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources, conducted a Narra Tree Planting Activity at Sitio Abong-Abong, Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City on February 22, 2025.

At around 8:00 in the morning of the said date, the team headed by the 2025 JCISZ President JCI Sen. Mayer E. Delgado, JGF proceeded to the area for a short program. They were joined by the 2025 JCI Senate Philippines (JCISP) National Board headed by no less than the 2025 National President JCI Sen. Cecilia M. Dy, CCF, 2025 National Executive Vice-President JCI Sen. Mylene M. Dayrit, JGVF, 2025 National Secretary General JCI Sen. Christian B. Clemeno, JGF, 2025 National Director JCI Sen. Jose Maria C. Millevo, JGF, 2025 Special Assistant to the President JCI Sen. Herbert S. Tang, JGVF, 2025 National Convention Director JCI Sen. Agnes R. Brazell, JGEF, and Special Assistant JCI Sen. Dulce T. Millevo, JGF.

NARRA's Green Link Program aims to promote environmental sustainability and community development. The said project was chaired by JCI Sen. Charlie V. Jubay, JGF. More or less 50 narra trees were planted as the team was also joined by a local organization, JCI Zamboanga La Bella.
