On May 31, 2024, the esteemed Peer Listener Club, headed by the guidance and Counseling Office, convened at the picturesque Golf Beach Resort in Zamboanga City to commemorate an exceptional academic year marked by unparalleled achievements and unwavering dedication.

During this momentous occasion, Renzo Rebollos (BSED in English) and Mariel Vidal (BS in Aquaculture) were lauded for their exemplary service as Mayor and Secretary, respectively, for three consecutive years.

Joined by the newly appointed club moderator, Mr. Masjiril, along with the esteemed members of the Student Supreme Council, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Services, and his secretary, the celebration also served as a platform for strategizing future initiatives of the PLC.

With the former officers outstanding contributions, the Peer Listener Club eagerly looks forward to another academic year brimming with success and enriched services for the student community.

Last February 14, 2024, at Octagon, the Guidance and Counseling office, in collaboration with the Peer Listeners Club and the Multi-Faith Office, conducted a True Love Waits Seminar for members of the Peer Listeners Club and selected students across colleges. This seminar was facilitated by Real Connection Mindanao during the morning session.

The morning session highlighted the idea that true love waits with God, friends, family, and others it emphasized the importance of embracing patience, understanding, and selflessness in our relationships. True love is about valuing the connections we have and being willing to invest the time and effort needed to nurture and strengthen them. By embodying the principles of true love, we can cultivate deeper, more meaningful connections that bring joy, fulfillment, and lasting happiness into our lives.

The afternoon session was facilitated by the Moderator of the Peer Listeners Club Maam Jennylyn Gamueta. She talked about the Love languages and dating rules. She asserted, that understanding love languages and adhering to dating rules are essential for fostering healthy and fulfilling relationships. Love languages help partners communicate and express affection in ways that resonate with each other, enhancing emotional connection. Adhering to dating rules establishes mutual respect, boundaries, and expectations, fostering trust and stability in relationships. Together, these principles create a foundation for building lasting and meaningful connections with others.

The PLC Office extends its gratitude to Ma'am Micah Ezra Chang-Aquino, Head of the Multi-faith Office, and Mr. Roderick Trio for gracing the event. Special thanks to Ma'am Jovie Emmanuel Visitacion, Head of the Guidance and Counselling Office, and Mr. RJ Lim, OIC Moderator of PLC, for making this seminar possible.

To love and be loved is the greatest gift. Indeed, true love waits!
