MANILA, Philippines β AHF Philippines recently met with the Department of Health Health Promotion Bureau (DOH-HPB) to discuss opportunities for collaboration in advancing health promotion campaigns and public awareness initiatives.
Representing AHF Philippines were Dr. Ryan C. Guinaran, Country Program Manager; Vic Arthur Masliyan, Advocacy and Marketing Officer; and Michelle Dominique Garcia, Project Officer. The delegation met with Jason Roque, Division Chief of the DOH Health Promotion Bureau.
During the meeting, AHF Philippines shared its ongoing health promotion efforts, including annual awareness campaigns such as International Condom Day, Menstrual Hygiene Day, and World AIDS Day, which aim to increase public awareness and encourage healthier behaviors among communities.
The DOH-HPB, meanwhile, presented its current health promotion initiatives, including a range of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials and toolkits that may be utilized and adapted by AHF Philippines to support future campaigns and community engagement activities.
The discussion also highlighted the Bureau's interest in partnering with AHF Philippines following the successful launch of the Philippine Youth Condom Congress during this year's International Condom Day celebration. The pioneering initiative brought together young advocates and stakeholders to promote evidence-based HIV prevention and sexual health education among Filipino youth.
Both organizations expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in health promotion and identified opportunities for future joint campaigns, marketing initiatives, and public education activities that support national health priorities.
