The volunteers of Ateneo de Davao Legal Advocacy Works (AdDLAW) successfully conducted a Dental Mission in Brgy. Bantol, Marilog District, Davao Cityโ€”bringing together legal advocacy, community service, and healthcare in support of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Through this initiative, they sought to promote not only access to healthcare but also greater awareness of the rights, welfare, and well-being of PWDs in the community.

Ateneo de Davao Legal Advocacy Works (AdDLAW), through the steadfast volunteer service and legal guidance of Counsel ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐ญ ๐’๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ ๐จ has filed another Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus on behalf of a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF).

This effort forms part of Project Dungog, a pro bono legal aid consortium committed to bringing legal assistance closer to PDLs who need it most. The project is carried out in coordination with ๐‰๐Œ๐‚๐…๐ˆ-๐‹๐€๐‚ and the Project Dungog Executive Committee, led by ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ข ๐€๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข ๐‘. ๐‘๐ข๐ณ๐š๐๐š-๐๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐œ๐จ and ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐‘๐š๐ข๐š ๐“๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐๐š.

Beyond the filing of a petition, this is a reminder of what the legal profession can become when law is placed at the service of people. It reflects a continuing commitment to ensure that access to justice remains within reach, not only for those who can afford it, but also for those who have little else to turn to.

Every hour volunteered, every document prepared, every legal insight shared, and every contribution given becomes part of something greater: an effort to restore dignity, protect rights, and give meaning to the promise of justice.

This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity of members of the legal profession and the unwavering support of the ๐€๐๐ƒ๐‹๐€๐– ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ.

From the days leading up to the Bar, to September 6, 9, and 13, we witnessed more than just an examination unfold. We witnessed the grit of our advocatesโ€”their determination and unwavering commitment to reaching the finish line.

But behind every long day and every moment of support stood the heart of our volunteers. Through early mornings, preparations, and quiet acts of service, they gave their time and energy to make sure that our Bar takers never felt alone in the journey.

Today marked another day of putting months of preparation, sacrifice, and determination to the test. As they continue through the final stretch of the Bar examinations, AdDLAW volunteers remain present to support them throughout the process.

At the center of it all are our Bar takers, who continue to show up and take on each examination dayโ€”while a community of volunteers works alongside them in support.

In the spirit of cura personalis and solidarity, we humbly reach out to our community to support ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐‰๐จ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ง ๐•๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ข๐š, who is currently undergoing medical treatment. As she continues her fight toward recovery, the costs of her hospital bills, medicines, and ongoing care have become increasingly overwhelming.
