LOOK: DCSZ CYF REPRESENTS THE 12TH NWMJ CYF BIENNIAL ASSEMBLY

Rvin John D. Labastilla, outgoing DCSZ CYF President, represented the conference during the recently concluded 12th NWMJ CYF Biennial Assembly together with Chea Mae T. Apao and Regner Talaboc. The event was held at UCCP Sicpao from May 1 to 3, 2026.

Anchored on the theme, “Walking with Jesus: Journeying with the Anawim,” the delegates were immersed in various activities prepared by the jurisdiction that strengthened their faith and encouraged fellowship with one another.

We are also proud to congratulate and share the news that Rvin John was elected as Vice President, while Regner was elected as the Ecumenical Relations Committee (ERC) Chairperson of the NWMJ CYF Officers for Ecclesiastical Year 2026–2028. Truly, their leadership and dedication to serve, lead, and stand with the young people across the jurisdiction reflect their commitment to the ministry.

As they assume office, let us offer our encouragement, prayers, and support as they carry out their responsibilities with faith and dedication. May their service continue to inspire and strengthen the youth ministry across the jurisdiction for the greater glory of God.

NORWEMJA SHINES ON DAY 1 OF NYAC ‘26 ✨🔥

The Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) delegates from the Northwest Mindanao Jurisdictional Area (NORWEMJA) actively participated in Day 1 of the 12th National Youth Assembly on April 13, 2026, held at UCCP Allen, Northern Samar.

The day began with the Opening Worship and a Biblico-Theological Reflection on the incoming quadrennial theme, “Walking with Jesus: Journeying with the Anawim.” This was followed by the Orientation and Acquaintance, where delegates connected with fellow CYF leaders from 36 out of 49 conferences across the United Church of Christ in the Philippines—totaling 99 delegates as of Day 1.

In the afternoon, NORWEMJA delegates continued to shine through their active engagement in Plenary Session 1 (Preliminaries), Plenary Session 2 (State of the CYF Address), and Plenary Session 3 (Presentation of Guidelines by NOMELEC). Notably, several delegates were selected and confirmed as members of the Assembly’s Standing Committees:

In addition, our Interim NWMJ-CYF President Mharvy C. Carcallas, serving as the National CYF Vice President for NWMJ, presided over the session during Plenary 2. He assumed the chairmanship as the National CYF President temporarily relinquished the chair to deliver the State of the CYF Address.

Day 1 concluded with an evening prayer, marking a meaningful close to a day filled with worship, learning, and fellowship. The assembly now prepares for Day 2—highlighting the nomination and election of national officers.

ENJOYING NYAC 2026 SO FAR! ✨🍽️

After engaging in Plenary Sessions 1 and 2, our beloved NWMJ-CYF delegates enjoyed a hearty dinner graciously prepared by UCCP Allen, Northern Samar—recharging for the evening ahead.

With renewed energy, they are now preparing for Plenary 3 as Day 1 continues with meaningful discussions and fellowship.

The day’s activities are expected to conclude at around 10:00 PM.

Sharing our first meal together as a complete delegation, the NWMJ-CYF enjoyed a sumptuous dinner graciously prepared by the host church, UCCP Allen. With all delegates and our chaplain present, this moment marked a meaningful beginning of our journey together.

As we gather in fellowship and gratitude, we now brace ourselves for a week-long National CYF activity, united in faith, strengthened in spirit, and ready to serve.

TOUCHDOWN: UCCP Gingoog City!

The CYF delegates of the Northwest Mindanao Jurisdiction (NWMJ), coming from the seven conferences, have safely arrived at UCCP Gingoog City and will be taking their well-deserved rest after the first long day of the NYAC ’26 journey.

Tomorrow, the group will resume their travel bound for Surigao City, drawing closer to their expected arrival on Sunday at UCCP Allen, Northern Samar.

TEAM NWMJ! 💪🏻

Our National Youth Assembly and Camp 2026 delegates are now almost complete! As of 7:55 PM, the NWMJ-CYF delegates are currently in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, and are en route to UCCP Gingoog City as Day 1 of the journey to Samar comes to a close.

Let us continue to pray for the safety of all delegates and for renewed strength as they journey onward toward NYAC ‘26 in Allen, Northern Samar!

NWMJ-CYF BOUND FOR SAMAR

Delegates from the Northwest Mindanao Jurisdiction – Christian Youth Fellowship (NWMJ-CYF) are now en route to Allen, Samar for the 12th National Youth Assembly and 6th National Youth Camp of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines – Christian Youth Fellowship (UCCP-CYF), set on April 12–18, 2026.

As of 12:30 PM on April 10, CYF delegates from the District Conference of Southern Zamboanga (DCSZ), Western Mindanao Conference (WMC), District Conference of Northern Zamboanga (DCNZ), and District Conference of Northern Mindanao (DCNM) have already converged and are expected to meet with other conferences under the NWMJ within the day.
