Join us to enjoy a cozy movie experience on the big screen this Valentine’s season at the Audio-Visual Room on February 13 (Friday) for ₱20.00 per movie only! You may avail tickets early from the Supreme Student Government (Room 307 and 305) or from any SSG officers.

GENERAL REMINDER:

-The cinema will begin at the scheduled time once all technical preparations are complete. Screenings will start promptly and will not be delayed for late arrivals. All attendees are advised to arrive at least 10-20 minutes before the start of each film.
-Each screening is limited to a maximum of 150 persons only.
-To maintain the condition of the AVR and ensure a comfortable viewing environment, eating and drinking inside the venue are strictly prohibited.
-Tickets may be purchased in advance. We encourage everyone to secure their tickets early to guarantee a slot for their preferred screening.

A symposium on Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction Management was conducted for the college department of Rizal Memorial Colleges, Tagum Campus, with the theme “Prepared Today, Safe Tomorrow: Building Resilient Students,” to strengthen students’ awareness and readiness in responding to disasters through informed and practical approaches on January 19, 2026, at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR).

The program formally opened with opening remarks delivered by Prof. Jeah Vera S. Taboada, RCrim, MMCJ, setting the tone for the importance of disaster resilience within the academic community.

Moreover, the symposium was also graced by the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Maria Lalaine P. Chieng, as well as faculty members Prof. Arlyn Reyes, MPT, MAED, and Prof. Maria Carolina Lee-Nuñeza, MAIC, who showed their support for the initiative.

Furthermore, serving as resource speakers were Noviejane M. Rojas, LPT, Local DRRM Officer III, and Rudnie D. Ariate, Local DRRM Officer I, from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), who provided comprehensive discussions on various types of disasters, preparedness strategies, and the operational processes of their office.

For emergencies and immediate assistance, individuals may contact the PDRRMO hotlines: GLOBE/TM – 911 or 112 and SMART – 0908 813 2007.

Additionally, the speakers further engaged the participants through an extensive open forum, where they addressed questions raised by students with clarity and depth.

Finally, the program concluded with closing remarks from the Head of the Office of Student Services and Affairs (OSSA), Sarah C. Gemongala, MAP-CP, who emphasized the role of education in building safer and more resilient communities and expressed her appreciation to the organizers, speakers, and participants for the success of the symposium.

The symposium was mainly facilitated by students from the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event.

Notably, the recent earthquake activity that affected several areas also prompted the department of this initiative, emphasizing the necessity of increased awareness, readiness, and group responsibility in guaranteeing the safety and resilience of the academic community.

In conclusion, through this symposium, RMC Tagum reaffirmed its dedication to providing students with knowledge and preparedness skills.

𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐩 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬

The Psychology and Human Services College Department of the Rizal Memorial Colleges Inc., Tagum Campus (RMC Tagum) celebrated Psychology Day with the theme, "Psychology in Action: From Theory to Practice" on December 16, 2025, at the RMC Tagum Lobby, exploring psychological resilience and spicing up the event with a ramp modeling competition.

Spearheaded by their club adviser, Prof. Maria Carolina Lee-Nuñeza, and facilitated by the Theraminds club officers, the event aimed to provide discourse and engagement among attendees in the field of Psychology.

Additionally, School Director Prof. Julito A. Orio, LPT, CHRA, MAT-Fil, SMRIEdr, showed his support and acknowledgment of the celebration in his opening remarks.

Discussing resilience towards academic progress, esteemed resource speaker Ms. Odyssa V. Tag-at, MPsy, Rpsy, deepened the participants' understanding of successful psychological approaches to improve student wellbeing and maintain academic success by sharing strategies and her own personal experiences as well.

Furthermore, the celebration was leveled up with the addition of the ramp modeling competition, where students from both programs showcased their casual attire and those who stood out were given recognition with certificates and tokens.

Lastly, the event successfully ended with a closing remark from Prof. Arlyn Reyes, LPT, MAED who also provided guidance in the celebration.

Through celebrating Psychology Day, the Rizalian community honors the importance of mental health wellness, especially in areas involving the academe.

The college department of Rizal Memorial Colleges Inc., Tagum Campus (RMC Tagum) conducted their General Assembly on January 9, 2026 at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR), bringing together students and administrators to discuss important updates and institutional reminders.

The meeting was attended by the the faculty, program heads, office heads, and Dean of the College, Dr. Maria Lalaine P. Chieng, who formally started the program with opening remarks, expressing support for the students and emphasizing the importance of staying informed on academic and institutional matters.

Part one of the meeting focused on orientations from key college offices, including the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSSA), the Guidance Office, the Registrar, and the Library. Heads from these offices provided process reminders, revisited selected rules and regulations, and shared important updates and announcements relevant to the student body.

Following the general assembly, the meeting proceeded to its second part, where students were grouped according to their respective programs. Each program head conducted separate meetings with their students to discuss academic updates, address student progress, and provide program-specific guidance.

The General Meeting served as a platform for communication and alignment between students and the institution, reinforcing the college’s commitment to academic clarity, student development, and effective campus engagement.

𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬!

The College Department General Assembly is happening on January 9, 2025 (Friday) at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR) from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The assembly will be conducted in two parts:

Part 1 (AVR) includes general orientation featuring the OSSA, Guidance Office, Registrar, and Library.

Part 2 (Assigned Rooms) will focus on academic updates and student progress, led by your Program Heads.

This is an important gathering for updates, guidance, and alignment for the college community. See you!

Before the year 2025 ends, The RMC Tagum Supreme Student Government pause to say thank you to Rizalians, especially to the College Department. Your voices, participation, patience, and trust gave meaning to every program, meeting, and long day. The Student Supreme Government exists because of you, and every effort this year was driven by the goal of serving your interests and amplifying your concerns.

Behind these efforts was a team that quietly carried the work forward. Through planning, coordination, and long hours, the SSG officers upheld the responsibility of leadership with consistency and commitment. As 2025 comes to a close, the year stands as a reminder of what can be achieved through service, collaboration, and dedication to the student community.

Laughter and conversation set the tone at Rizal Memorial Colleges Inc. Tagum Campus (RMC Tagum) as the College Department marked the end of the year with a year-end party on December 20, 2025 in the RMC Tagum lobby. The gathering offered students a chance to unwind and reconnect in a more relaxed setting before the semester officially closed.

Led and executed entirely by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) guided by the RMC Office of Student Services and Affairs (OSSA) Head, Sarah C. Gemongala, MAP-CP, the program included interactive games and a fellowship lunch that encouraged participation and easy camaraderie.

The event was attended by the Dean of College, Dr. Maria Lalaine P. Chieng, LPT; faculty members, and various students from each program.
