Taguig City tapped music and the arts to promote unity and peace during the TLC Community Fair: Art and Music for Peace โ Tugtog Taguig, Himig ng Kapayapaan, held April 24โ25 at the Concert Grounds, Gate 6, Laguna Lake Highway, Barangay Lower Bicutan as part of its 439th founding anniversary.
The two-day event brought together performers and residents in a shared celebration of music and community, highlighting local talent while promoting hope, resilience, and harmony.
In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano underscored the cityโs support for arts and culture:
โTunay na ipinagdiriwang natin ang ating lungsodโisang lungsod na kumikilala at nagpapahalaga sa sining. At ngayong gabi, sa pamamagitan ng music festival na ito, muli nating binibigyang-buhay ang kahalagahan ng musika sa ating komunidad.โ
She also emphasized the importance of peace, urging attendees to carry its message beyond the event:
โNgayong gabi, tayo po ay nagdiriwang at nagsasama-sama sa saliw ng magagandang musika. Ngunit higit sa lahat, nawaโy mangibabaw sa bawat isa sa atin ang diwa ng kapayapaanโisang kapayapaang nagsisimula sa ating sarili, at umaabot sa ating komunidad at sa buong bansa.โ
The first day opened with a performance by Kinetix, followed by Pau Gesi, Khimo Gumatay, and Earl Agustin, featuring a mix of rap, pop, and R&B. Six or Seven kept the crowd engaged throughout the night. A highlight was the performance of โOne Dayโ and โKapayapaanโ by Mayor Lani and members of the City Council.
On the second day, Rookies and Coro Jesu set the tone with energetic performances. Estrelya Music, Jeremy Novela, and Liel followed with a mix of rap, pop, and love songs.
The Taguig City Council also performed โHeal the World,โ while the City Health Office and the City Social Welfare and Development Office rendered โHawak Kamay.โ
The program capped off with a performance by This Band, drawing strong audience engagement until the finale.
