𝗔 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 — The Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association Bohol – BISU Main Campus (TCCYA-BISU MC) has proudly carved its place in history by receiving the 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 and 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙥 10 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 for the very first time at Pasidungog 2025: Gugma sa Pag-alagad, standing tall among the most outstanding and remarkable organizations in Bohol Island State University.

This achievement speaks volumes of how kindness in action, when done together, can create lasting waves of change. It is a reflection of every step taken with love, every task done with purpose, and every heart that chose to serve.

A heartfelt salute goes to our ever-driven and passionate head, Mr. Mark Boiser, whose hands-on leadership and unwavering dedication continue to bring light and meaning to every initiative we take on.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our advicer, Ms. Lorren Aguilor, whose guidance and support have been a steady beacon of wisdom and inspiration, helping steer us toward success.

To our fellow incredible Tzu Chings — this victory is the fruit of your efforts. Your time, dedication, and willingness to serve have brought warmth to others and honor to our name. Every simple act, every shared smile, and every hour spent has brought us here.

“𝘈 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴.” – 𝘋𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘨 𝘠𝘦𝘯.

On November 10, 2024, the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association (TCCYA) – Bohol reached out to the children of Bohol Sunshine Home, at Cabawan, Bohol. With the theme “JingSi Lesson: Compassion in Action,” the event aimed to uplift the spirits of the 18 remarkable children, each carrying stories of resilience and hope despite their challenging circumstances.

The day began with a warm welcome from TCCYA Bohol Head, Mark Anthony Boiser, whose words of joy and gratitude set a positive environment for the event. Guided by their social worker, Mrs. Celsa Singh, the children, though initially shy, became more engaged as the day went on.

One of the first activities was a special sign language performance by the Tzu Chings, which the children eagerly joined. The joy in their smiles was a powerful reminder of the innocence and warmth of their hearts. TCCYA Bohol also organized games and creative activities to foster connection and companionship.

A key highlight was the JingSi Aphorism activity, where the children reflected on the teachings of compassion, kindness, and goodness, values that Dharma Master Cheng Yen has long inspired in us all. It was moving to see how the children embraced these lessons.

After a snack break, the children enjoyed more games and sign language dances. One of the most touching moments was the wish-making activity, where the children wrote their wishes and hung them on a Christmas tree. Many wished for toys or clothes, but most simply longed to be with their families this Christmas.

The children’s uplifting smiles contrasted with the difficult stories they carry. This day of kindness served as a reminder that we must never underestimate the impact of offering love, comfort, and support to those in need. We may not fully understand their struggles, but we can always offer a helping hand and a compassionate heart.

Reflecting on this event, it’s clear that the impact went beyond the activities, it was about creating memories, fostering hope, and showing these children that they are not alone. While brief, the experience will surely stay with them for a lifetime.

As we continue forward, let’s embody compassion in every action, remembering that even small gestures can make a world of difference. Let us pray and work toward a brighter future for these children, where their deepest wishes for love, happiness, and fulfillment may come true.

This timeless Filipino tradition echoes the spirit of unity and compassion, which also resonates in the mission of Tzu Chi.

As we celebrate Family Day, we not only honor the families we are born into but also recognize the beauty of the families we build along the way. In Tzu Chi, we are reminded that family extends beyond bloodlines. It is built through love, compassion, and a shared sense of responsibility. Each volunteer, each beneficiary, each supporter, becomes a vital piece to a greater, global family, united in kindness and service.

At the heart of Tzu Chi’s core mission is filial piety, a value deeply embedded in the teachings of Dharma Master Cheng Yen. This principle emphasizes respect, gratitude, and care for one’s elders, a belief that mirrors the Filipino value of honoring our parents and nurturing the bonds that sustain our families. But Tzu Chi extends this beyond just our blood relatives. The organization instills a sense of duty to care for all those around us, our neighbors, friends, and even strangers as if they, too, were our own family.

The Filipino salo-salo is a beautiful metaphor for this sense of community. Just as we sit together to share a meal, we come together in Tzu Chi to share our hearts, our resources, and our time. In every gathering, whether big or small, we are reminded that family is not limited by name or ancestry but by the love and compassion we extend to others.

In Tzu Chi, we learn that family is not just about where we come from but about how we live, love, and give. The Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association of Bohol joins the International Coastal Clean up day 2024!!

On September 21, 2024 the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association of Bohol proudly participated in the most anticipated annual international coastal clean up day in collaboration with Best Western Plus the Ivywall Resort - Panglao along the vast coastline of Alona, Panglao Bohol together with various government institutions, Non- governmental organizations, Universities and a lot more gathered in this impactful initiative.

As part of the event, The Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association of Bohol, collected and segregated waste along the shorelines, aiming to reduce ocean pollutions and preserve the innate beauty of the nature for the welfare of both the people and the wildlife. As Tzu Chi youth we have been instilled in the essence of environmental preservation and protection as what our Founder Dharma Master Cheng Yen reminds us, "When we cherish the earth, we nurture our own lives."

With heartfelt appreciation, TCCYA Head, Mark Anthony Boiser, expressed his utmost gratitude to Best Western Plus the Ivywall Resort- Panglao for inviting the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association of Bohol he said, " In behalf of our organization, I'm deeply honored and thankful for giving us the opportunity to share our organization's mission and to take part in this initiative in preserving our environment for the future generations to come."

Yes, the experience was crucially demanding and exhausting but also profoundly rewarding. Seeing first- hand the transformation of the area, from a cluttered mess to a clean and healthy environment has been indeed fulfilling.

As youths, we take pride in being part in this remarkable change, even a small step at a time . A change that would impact the great generations to come, giving them a home where sustainability thrives.

Once again, we would like to extend our immense gratitude to Best Western Plus Ivywall Resort-Bohol for inviting us in this widely impactful cause. Thank you for this unforgetable experience, and we look forward for more collaborations filled with service, compassion and meaningful change.✨💚
