PAP–Southern Visayas Chapter joins Tingog sa Kabatan-onan in celebrating World Mental Health Day 2025! 💚

Catch us live on KISS 102.3 FM Bohol and via the Tingog sa Kabatan-onan page this October 10, 2025 (Friday), 5:00–6:00 PM, for a special episode titled:
🎙️ “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.”

Together with the Provincial Health Office – Mental Wellness Facility, our mental health practitioners from PAP–Southern Visayas Chapter will talk about the importance of mental health in times of crisis, national and local mental health programs, and practical ways to support those affected , especially our youth.

Let’s continue spreading awareness, empathy, and hope as we celebrate World Mental Health Day this October. 💙

In celebration of the World Mental Health Day and throughout the month of October, Tingog sa Kabatan-onan proudly presents "World Mental Health Day 2025: Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies", this October 10, 2025, 5:00 to 6:00 PM on KISS 102.3 FM Bohol, with a live broadcast also streaming on the official Tingog sa Kabatan-onan page.

This special and interactive episode aims to discuss the essence of Mental health as part of the holistic health of every individuals. Relative to the theme, let's learn from the distinguished mental health practitioners from the Psychological Association of the Philippines - Southern Visayas Geographical Chapter (PAP-SVGC) and Provincial Health Office (PHO) - Mental Wellness Facility as they talk about National and Local Mental Health program initiatives especially for the youth,
and the basics of Mental Health Crisis Management and Intervention.

This is also a safe space interaction for all our listeners, so tune in and join our live conversation. Our resource persons would also love to (virtually) hear from you!

PAP-SV Chapter - Southern Visayas Update 💙

Last night’s earthquake was strongly felt across our region. While Northern Cebu was most affected, our provinces of Bohol, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental also experienced the tremors.

As a chapter, we have asked our representatives to help us monitor the situation in their respective areas:

1. Niña Sulague for Bohol

2. Basong for Siquijor

3. Osmena for Negros Oriental

We encourage our members and community friends in these provinces to kindly coordinate with them by sharing updates on your current situation, or letting them know if you are in need of assistance. 🙏

Your input will help guide us in determining how we, as a chapter, can extend meaningful support, whether through information sharing, referrals, or other ways we can be of help.

Together, let us remain vigilant, compassionate, and ready to support one another. 💙

Our hearts are full. 🥰

Today, we gathered across islands from Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor for the PAP - Southern Visayas Regional Chapter’s Online General Assembly 2025. Though we were separated by waters, we were united by a shared purpose: to reconnect, recharge, and continue growing as professionals in the field of psychology.

To everyone who joined us this afternoon, daghang salamat! Your presence made this event truly meaningful.

I want to express my deep appreciation to those who helped behind the scenes and at the frontlines. To my fellow PAP–SVRC officers, thank you for showing up not just with your roles, but with your kasing-kasing. Listening to each of you speak and serve reminded me of your dedication, your commitment, and your potential to contribute something meaningful to our growing community.

A special thank you to Ms. Dayan Alpuerto for volunteering to design the pubmat, and to Ma’am Mitch Rose Aguilar for graciously stepping in as our moderator. Your spirit of voluntarism is inspiring.

To Ms. Pen Cruz, Multimedia Supervisor of PAP National, salamat kaayo for staying with us to manage the Zoom hosting and other logistics. Your support anchored us.

And of course, to the ever dashing (yes, that’s the word! ☺️), Dr. Ver Reyes, thank you for your profound and uplifting welcoming remarks. You reminded us of the bigger story we belong to, one where the Psychological Association of the Philippines continues to shape and support our professional growth.

To those who were not able to attend, it’s okay. As I shared earlier, our connections go beyond events, they are rooted in shared values and a mutual desire to keep learning, keep serving, and keep moving forward as one.

For now, stay tuned for more opportunities to engage, learn, and collaborate. We hope to see you at the 61st PAP Annual Convention and 8th ARUPS Congress in Cebu City this September!
