โ€Ž๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž | The Peace and Development Society (PDS) brought another meaningful outreach to Biwang National High School through ๐‘ท๐‘ฌ๐‘จ๐‘ช๐‘ฌ ๐‘ธ๐‘ผ๐‘ฌ๐‘บ๐‘ป: A Transformative Culture-Based Mentorship and Coaching Series.

Led by dedicated Mathematics students and the first batch of Social Studies majors, the program featured storytelling with powerful moral lessons and interactive math-solving activities that sparked curiosity and teamwork among learners.

This initiative continues to shape character, strengthen socio-emotional well-being, and enhance core skills in Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and Filipino.

The Peace and Development Society (PDS), in collaboration with dedicated teachers from Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) and under the leadership of Maโ€™am Gallego, successfully conducted an extension service at Biwang National High School.

With the support of:

๐Ÿ“– 5 from BSED English, and
๐ŸŒ 3 from Social Studies,

children were guided to improve their reading and comprehension skills in a nurturing and empowering environment.

The activity was anchored on the theme:

Peace and Development Society is privileged to have conducted the 2nd session of its outreach program at Datu Matilondo Galmak National High School focusing on the human body systems. Together with Ate ๐Š๐ซ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฅ ๐†๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ง๐ง ๐. ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐๐š๐ฒ and Ate ๐’๐š๐ซ๐š๐ก ๐ƒ. ๐€๐ญ๐š๐ฌ๐ก ๐๐š๐ซ๐  from BSED Major in Science, grade 7 students had the opportunity to learn more about science.

The program was designed to introduce children to the fundamental systems of the body, including the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems. By using age-appropriate explanations, interactive demonstrations, and engaging visual aids, we aimed to simplify complex scientific concepts and encourage students to explore their natural curiosity.

Throughout the sessions, the students displayed enthusiasm and active participation. Their questions and eagerness to understand how the body works highlighted the importance of providing accessible and engaging science education at a young age. The energy and interest of the learners truly made the activity both productive and fulfilling.

Maโ€™am Lorio facilitated the main discussion on "12โ€“14 ๐’€๐’†๐’‚๐’“-๐‘ถ๐’๐’… ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’… ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’—๐’†๐’๐’๐’‘๐’Ž๐’†๐’๐’• ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’๐’๐’†๐’”" Through interactive and engaging activities, students were encouraged to practice teamwork and critical thinking. She highlighted key aspects of adolescent development, including physical growth, emotional changes, and social adjustments. The talk provided students with valuable awareness and guidance on how to cope with changes and make responsible choices as they transition through adolescence.

The first session of Peace Quest ended on a positive note, leaving the students inspired and more aware of the changes in their personal growth. With the guidance of mentors and teachers, the program not only enriched their knowledge but also strengthened their confidence in facing the challenges of adolescence. The Peace and Development Society looks forward to continuing the series and further empowering young learners in the sessions to come.

With the theme โ€œTransformative and Culture-Based Teaching for the Modern Educators: Innovations, Collaboration, Well-being, and Research Excellence,โ€ The Peace and Development Society, under the leadership of Maโ€™am Mary Grace Gallego, PhD Project Leader, in partnership with the SKSU faculty and teachers from the partner institution, officially deployed its PeaceQuest student-delegates today, August 29, 2025, at Datu Matilondo Galmak National High School, Brgy. Biwang, Bagumbayan.

The program placed a strong emphasis on empowering teachers, who served as the main guests and active participants during the activity. Their presence made the event more meaningful as they engaged with new strategies, ideas, and practices that promote culture-based and transformative education.
