Another inspiring community-led conservation moment! 🐢

Our SEAguardian, Tay Pilipe, from Isla La Januza encountered eight (8) hawksbill sea turtle hatchlings and immediately responded together with Pawikan Surfers, France and Janilleh, safely releasing the hatchlings back to the ocean.

This is what community conservation looks like—when local people take the lead, nature has a better chance to thrive.

Inspired by the theme "𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣, 𝘼𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙖𝙣!" this artwork creatively conveys the importance of proper nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and collective responsibility in building healthier schools and communities. Through the power of visual storytelling, this entry reflects the participants' artistic excellence, originality, and advocacy for wellness.

Congratulations to Lady Carmel and the Halian SEAwikan Initiative! 🎉🌊

We are proud to share that our inspiring founder and project leader has received a Certificate of Commendation in recognition of her dedication and leadership in turtle conservation. 🐢

Furthermore, the Halian SEAwikan project was awarded a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)—PENRO Surigao del Norte— as a sincere expression of appreciation for our support and commitment to the department’s environmental programs. This recognition acknowledges our efforts in empowering local communities and promoting responsible practices that greatly contribute to the preservation of our coastal and marine ecosystems for current and future generations.

These awards were received during the culmination of the Philippine Environment Month 2026 celebration in Surigao City.

This milestone reflects our community’s unwavering dedication to protecting and conserving our beloved Halian and Siargao islands for generations to come.

HAPPY WORLD SEA TURTLE DAY!

Through educational awareness campaigns, storytelling, beach clean-ups, and community action, we continue to inspire people to protect and care for our sea turtles.

Every nest protected, every child educated, and every shoreline cared for is a step toward a future where the next generation can still witness these incredible creatures thriving in our oceans.

As we welcome School Year 2026–2027 for our Isla Halian learners, we are deeply grateful to Sir Richmond, UNLTD Siargao, and Kids for Kids for their generosity and support through school supplies for 143 learners. 📚🏝️

May these simple gifts become tools for learning, growth, and dreams for every child as they begin another school year.

Halian SEAWikan: growing ocean guardians, one Saturday at a time.🏝️

As we end our Summer Feeding Program, we are deeply grateful to Gawad Kalinga for sponsoring the Saturday breakfasts of our Halian SEAWikan Kid Patrollers throughout April, May, and June.

Beyond every meal shared was care, encouragement, and support that fueled our young ocean guardians as they continue protecting our island and caring for our kinaiyahan. 🪸🐢🏝️
