The CY 2026 Sumilao Youth Caravan Preparatory Meeting was successfully conducted on October 16, 2026, at the Executive Room, Municipal Building, Kisolon, Sumilao, Bukidnon. The meeting gathered concerned department heads and representatives to discuss plans and preparations for the upcoming CY 2026 Sumilao Youth Caravan. Following the preparatory meeting, the 2026 3rd Quarterly Joint Meeting of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation and the Sumilao Youth Development Council was held, bringing together Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Chairpersons, youth organization presidents, and representatives from different youth and youth-serving organizations in the municipality. Both meetings were led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Venice Marie P. Villo, reaffirming the local government's commitment to youth development and meaningful youth participation.

During the joint meeting, key agenda items were discussed, including updates from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the early submission of CY 2026 accomplishment reports by the Sangguniang Kabataan, updates from youth and youth-serving organizations, and the formulation of preventive measures to address the growing concern of teenage pregnancy in the municipality. The discussions fostered collaboration, strengthened partnerships, and encouraged proactive engagement among youth leaders and stakeholders.

A heartfelt gratitude is extended to all participants for their active involvement and support, especially to Municipal Mayor Hon. Venice Marie P. Villo, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation headed by SK Federation President Hon. Kristia Gwyneth A. Franche, and the Local Youth Development Office led by Mr. Julmar G. Moralde, whose dedication continues to advance youth empowerment and development initiatives in Sumilao.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚, 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐮𝐛

Last October 08, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, through its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), conducted a Benchmarking and Site Visit at the Municipal Youth Hub of Sumilao.

This initiative was to explore innovative and effective approaches to youth development and empowerment. The visit aimed to gain insights into the Youth Hub’s programs and services, organizational and operational practices, facility management, and strategies in establishing and operating a youth-friendly and youth-centered facility.

During the activity, the delegation was able to observe firsthand the municipality’s best practices in youth governance and facility management, highlighting Sumilao’s commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for young people. The exchange of knowledge and experiences is expected to contribute significantly to Villanueva’s efforts in strengthening its own youth development initiatives.

The benchmarking visit exemplifies the importance of inter-LGU collaboration in advancing youth welfare and empowerment. By sharing its innovative strategies, Sumilao continues to serve as a model municipality in fostering responsive and sustainable youth programs that can be replicated across Misamis Oriental and beyond.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗯-𝗣𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲

The Sumilao Youth Hub proudly marked another milestone today with the opening of its 2nd Satellite Office in Barangay Puntian, Sumilao, Bukidnon. The event gathered youth, officials, and community to witness and experience a space dedicated to learning, collaboration, and empowerment. This new hub serves as a venue for education, teamwork, and youth-driven initiatives. It is open to all the Sumilao youth offering free use of computers, WiFi internet connection powered by Starlink, printing services, a study area, and recreational spaces designed to foster growth, creativity, and teamwork.

This achievement was made possible through the collective effort and support of the Local Government Unit of Sumilao led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Venice Marie P. Villo, the Sangguniang Bayan of Sumilao headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. George Jeremy B. Baula, and the dedication of the Barangay Officials of Puntian led by Hon. Tirso B. Amistoso. Also, to the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Sumilao under Hon. Kristia Gwyneth A. Franche, with the active involvement of Sangguniang Kabataan of Puntian led by Hon. Kent Jedan S. Cabarles, the leadership of the Local Youth Development Office under Mr. Julmar G. Moralde and the mural artwork was masterfully created by Mr. Alfie Deconlay. Above all, the youth of Sumilao stand at the heart of this initiative, proving that with unity and vision, dreams for a better community can truly become reality.
