This National Heroes Day, the Philippine Red Cross honors the courage and sacrifice of the heroes who fought for our nationโ€”and celebrates the spirit of heroism that continues to live in Filipinos who choose to serve others.

Today, heroism can be found in every volunteer who runs toward an emergency, every responder who reaches communities in times of disaster, every blood donor who gives a part of themselves so another may live, and every Filipino who extends a helping hand without expecting anything in return.

As we remember the heroes who helped build our nation, may we also recognize those who continue their legacy through compassion, courage, and service.

โ€‹Torrential rains, severe flooding, and dangerous landslides have left thousands of families in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Entire communities have been submerged, homes destroyed, and families displaced from their livelihoods.

โ€‹Thousands of families are currently displaced and taking shelter in evacuation centers or with relatives. โ€‹Critical needs include clean drinking water, food packs, hygiene supplies, and medical assistance.
