The God Of All Seasons

John 6:35 (NIV): Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’

In our present times, many people seem to view everything as temporary including jobs, relationships, even health. As such, many have grown used to seasonal provision. We brace ourselves for times of lack, prepare for dry seasons, and hope that good things will return again. But Jesus does not give as the world gives.

He said, “I am the Bread of Life.” Not bread for a season, not bread until it runs out—but eternal bread. And those who come to Him shall never hunger, and those who believe in Him shall never thirst. That’s not a metaphor for a moment—it’s a reality for those who walk with Him.

Look at the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8–16). Her jar of flour and oil never ran out during a devastating famine. Why? Because when God provides, it is not subject to natural cycles. His Word sustained her household every day until the drought ended. That is the character of Jesus—constant, faithful, and abundant.

Another example is that of the man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–9). Healing was seasonal—only available when the waters were stirred. He had waited 38 years for his chance, but couldn’t get in fast enough. But when Jesus stepped into his situation, he didn’t need the pool anymore. Healing was not dependent on timing, location, or performance—he simply received.

With Jesus, healing, provision or breakthrough are not seasonal. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). If you need healing today, it is available. If you need provision, peace, a spouse, direction, or deliverance—it is available in Christ, by faith, and now.

GOLDEN NUGGET: With Jesus, healing, provision or breathrough are not seasonal. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

PRAYER: My Lord, I thank You for this blessed assurance. Thank You that in You, I never have to hunger or thirst again. You are more than enough for me—not just in certain seasons, but always. Your goodness is not limited by time or circumstances. I see Your provision, healing, and promises as always available through faith. I receive from You today—not because I deserve it, but because You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

John 6:35 (NIV): Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’

Devotion
Keeping Divine Wells Open – 2

2 Corinthians 12:15 (KJV): And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

One of the hindrances to a life of continual service is the desire for appreciation. But what happens when we are not appreciated? When our sacrifices go unnoticed or our service is met with indifference? Do we withdraw, waiting for recognition before we continue?

Paul, in our theme scripture says: I will gladly spend and be spent. He does not qualify this with as long as you appreciate me or if you respond well to my efforts. His commitment was not based on how people made him feel; it was rooted in his devotion to Christ.

To keep our wells open, we must live with liberty—the freedom to give ourselves fully without expecting anything in return. This is the essence of Christ’s love. He gave, knowing He would be rejected by some. He poured Himself out, not for applause but because it was His divine calling. In the same way, our joy should come not from how people respond but from the privilege of giving ourselves for God’s purpose.

Do not let emotions dictate your service. Whether in seasons of abundance or scarcity, in times of appreciation or disregard, the joy is in the giving. When we hold back because we have not been recognised, we rob ourselves of the blessing that comes from a life fully poured out. Let us keep the wells open by choosing to spend and be spent—not for man’s applause but for God’s glory. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Galatians 6:9; Colossians 3:23-24

GOLDEN NUGGET: Do not let emotions dictate your service. Whether in seasons of abundance or scarcity, in times of appreciation or disregard, the joy is in the giving. When we hold back because we have not been appreciated, we rob ourselves of the blessing that comes from a life fully poured out.

PRAYER: My Father, help me to serve You with a heart that is free from the need for recognition. Teach me to pour myself out for others with joy, knowing that You see every sacrifice. You keep my wells open and my life in a constant flow of Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Matthew 12:43–44 (KJV): When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

True freedom doesn’t last without revelation. Deliverance doesn’t happen because something left — it lasts because something stronger took its place.

Jesus warned in our theme scripture that when an unclean spirit leaves a person, it may come back — and bring reinforcements — if it finds the house empty. Clean isn’t enough. Empty is still vulnerable.

And that’s what happens to some people. They attend deliverance meetings. They fall under the power, shake, weep, roll on the floor. But when they get up, it’s a matter of time before they are worse off. They experience power, but not revelation. They get touched, but not transformed.

Why? Because they don’t fill the house. The Word isn’t dwelling in them. The truth about Jesus — what He’s done, who He’s made them to be — hasn’t taken root. And as long as the house is empty of revelation, the enemy sees it as an open door. Deliverance gets the enemy out; Revelation keeps him out. Power can break a chain; Truth builds a wall that can’t be breached.

Paul said in Galatians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…” That’s not just a feeling — that’s a stance based on understanding. You have to know what’s been done for you. You have to fill your heart and mind with truth until there’s no room for lies.

You cannot walk into lasting freedom until you come into a deep, personal understanding of who Christ is and what He accomplished on the cross. That’s what changes everything.

FURTHER STUDY: Hosea 4:6; Colossians 3:16

GOLDEN NUGGET: You cannot walk into lasting freedom until you come into a deep, personal understanding of who Christ is and what He accomplished on the cross. That’s what changes everything.

PRAYER: My Father, I thank You for this word. You delivered me totally and saved me to the uttermost. My heart is flooded with Your Word. Your revelations are the basis of my meditations. By this knowledge, I walk in steady, clear, fearless freedom through You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
