Yesterday, November 16, 2025, by God’s grace, we were blessed to serve 143 patients at Barangay Inchican, Silang, Cavite. This mission was more than just an outreach, it was a testimony of compassion, bayanihan, and God’s faithfulness working through many dedicated hearts.

Our deepest gratitude to Barangay Captain Renilyn Marqueses and the amazing Barangay Health Workers for their leadership, support, and warm hospitality. Thank you as well to Muzon SDA Church, led by Pastor Eliezer Gabrido, Pastor Ervin Aparri Lahoylahoy, and Elder Marilou Ardeza, for partnering with us and providing food and resources for our volunteers.

This medical mission was made possible through the generosity of our kind-hearted individuals and partners:
Mrs. Jemima Orillosa, Dra. Percida Cocos, Dra. Pinky Colacion, Dra. Linda-Lim Varona, the Malagar family, Dra. Carolyn Joy Rosas-Felicen, Muzon SDA Church, and the AUP Medicine Student Council. Your support brought healing, hope, and comfort to the community.

We are also deeply thankful for the time and dedication of our volunteer doctors:
Dra. Ruth Santos-Palomero, Dra. Mariell Bernadette Archeta, Dr. Ryzard Pelayo, and Dra. Rovi Anne Flores—who offered not only their skills but also their hearts in service.

To our MMSR officers, thank you for your unwavering commitment in planning this 4-part series of our Adopt-a-Barangay program. Despite multiple postponements, limited resources, and sleepless nights, you pressed on with faith and determination. And to our MMSR members, thank you for showing up with perseverance and willingness, braving fluctuating weather, busy schedules, and the demands of med school, yet always ready to serve.

This mission reminded us that when people come together with a shared purpose, compassion becomes a powerful healing force. To God be the glory for another successful mission of service and hope. ❤️🙏

🏘☀️ 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓-𝐀-𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒: 𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟑 | 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 ☀️🏘

For our third session, 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐤 𝟑 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟒 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧. Each group once again visited more than two households, reaching out to families and individuals to take their vital signs and perform a quick, focused check-up while sharing helpful health information. The team assigned to Purok 4 even had a fun ride to their area aboard the 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞—a unique and memorable experience! 🚑💙

While yesterday’s skies were gloomy, 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞. Despite the heat, our spirits remained high as we were blessed with the opportunity to serve and assess even more residents. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝, but after seeing others participate, they too opened up and learned valuable insights about their health through our MMSR members’ guidance. 🌿🩺

There was even a fun moment when 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐁𝐏 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 — people lined up with smiles, curious about their blood pressure, and we gladly assisted them.

𝐖𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬—from children to the elderly—and each encounter reminded us of our calling. We were genuinely inspired and motivated to become the physician-missionaries God wants us to be, serving with both skill and compassion. 🙏✨

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐢 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 for accompanying and guiding us throughout the activity. Despite the weather, her dedication and eagerness to be part of the community deeply inspired everyone, especially our members, who learned a great deal from her example. 🩺💜

We are also thankful to 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢 𝐋á𝐡𝐨𝐲𝐥á𝐡𝐨𝐲 for their continuous support, assistance, and encouragement. This mission wouldn’t have been possible without your open hearts and helping hands. 🤝💛

For our second session, we conducted a 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐤 𝟏 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧. Each group visited more than two households, listened to the residents’ health concerns, performed short history taking, checked vital signs, and conducted brief focused physical examinations. 🩺

We also shared health information and simple advice to help ease their discomfort, and distributed pamphlets about 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧—the top three health concerns identified in our previous survey. In addition, we introduced 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓, a lifestyle program that promotes holistic wellness through nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, and trust in God. 🌿☀️🙏

𝐄𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, fostering a sense of hope and connection within the community. 💙

As medical students, the members of MMSR learned valuable insights from this experience—understanding the causes, barriers, and challenges that many families face in accessing proper healthcare, often due to financial or educational limitations. We never knew that coming close to them and personally sharing our knowledge could also inspire and bless us—reminding us why we chose this path: 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. 🌟👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐯𝐢 for their guidance and presence throughout the activity, and to the Barangay Inchican workers, headed by 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐬, for their warm welcome and support. 🤝✨

After many postponements, date changes, and even class suspensions, we were finally able to proceed with our 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧. Our officers arrived as early as 6:30 AM to conduct a health survey, giving us a clearer glimpse of the common health concerns in the community. 📝🩺

We were blessed with perfect weather and are truly grateful for the kindness and cooperation of the people. Their warm welcome inspires us as we look forward to personally assisting them in our next sessions. 🙏💙

We ended this first session with freshly baked hot pandesal 🥖—a simple yet heartwarming reminder that service is always best shared with others. 🌟
