The quarterly meeting of the Persons with Disability (PWD) sector was successfully conducted today at Barangay Tubod. The activity served as an avenue for discussion of important programs, updates, and concerns affecting the PWD community.
The gathering highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and continuous support for persons with disabilities through inclusive programs and community participation. Participants were also encouraged to remain active in barangay activities and initiatives that promote equal opportunities and welfare for all.
The Barangay Council extends its gratitude to all attendees, organizers, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening services and support for the PWD sector in the community.

The Barangay Government of Tubod, Santo Tomas, La Union successfully accommodated the visitation and evaluation conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regarding the implementation and functionality of the Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee (BESWMC). The activity aimed to assess the barangay’s compliance with ecological solid waste management policies, particularly on waste segregation, operation of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), and the promotion of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Furthermore, the barangay actively promotes the reduction of single-use plastics and strongly encourages residents and local establishments to refrain from selling and using Styrofoam and plastic bags, in support of sustainable environmental practices. The visitation also provided technical guidance and recommendations to further strengthen the barangay’s environmental programs and initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection and responsible waste management.

KAPIHAN SA BARANGAY AND MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) SIGNING

The Barangay Government of Tubod, Santo Tomas, La Union, in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Santo Tomas, successfully conducted a “Kapihan sa Barangay” aimed at strengthening community engagement, promoting peace and order, and addressing local concerns of the residents.

The activity was highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signifying the commitment of both parties to work collaboratively in maintaining public safety, enhancing crime prevention strategies, and fostering a peaceful and drug-free community.

The MOU signing was headed by PMAJ Rez Geremo B. Cachin, representing the PNP Santo Tomas, together with Barangay officials led by the Punong Barangay of Tubod. The initiative underscores the shared responsibility between the community and law enforcement in ensuring a secure and harmonious environment.

Through this partnership, both the Barangay Government and PNP aim to strengthen coordination, improve responsiveness to community issues, and promote programs that will benefit the constituents of Barangay Tubod.

Ang pamamahaging ito ay patunay ng patuloy na suporta ng pamahalaang panlalawigan sa pagpapalakas ng kakayahan ng mga barangay upang higit pang mapabuti ang paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko sa ating mga mamamayan.

Inaasahang magiging malaking tulong ang mga Multi-Use Vehicle sa pagpapatupad ng mga programang pangkomunidad, emergency response, at iba pang serbisyong kinakailangan ng bawat barangay.
