3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) - SEPTEMBER 10, 2026

Barangay Tubod, Santo Tomas, La Union headed by PB HERMAN J. BASBAS, actively participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today, September 10, 2026, as part of our continuing commitment to strengthen disaster preparedness and community resilience.

Through the participation of the Barangay Council and personnel, the drill provided an opportunity to practice the proper “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and reinforce the importance of remaining calm, alert, and prepared during an earthquake.

This activity also serves as a reminder that preparedness is a shared responsibility. Regular drills help our barangay assess our readiness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that appropriate actions can be taken to protect lives and property when an actual earthquake occurs.
Barangay Tubod remains committed to building a safer, more prepared, and disaster-resilient community.

Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026

“Our Seas, Our Future: Strengthening Maritime Consciousness, Protecting Our Archipelagic Nation”
Barangay Tubod, Santo Tomas, La Union proudly joins the 2026 Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) celebration and the Simultaneous Nationwide Flag Raising Ceremony this September 7, 2026.
As a coastal community, we recognize the vital role of our seas, rivers, waterways, and coastal resources in sustaining our people and our communities. The MANA Mo celebration reminds us that the Philippines is not only a nation surrounded by water—we are an archipelagic and maritime nation whose identity, livelihood, environment, and future are closely connected to our waters.
Through the participation of the Barangay Council, barangay officials, community members, and stakeholders, Barangay Tubod reaffirms its commitment to promoting maritime awareness, environmental protection, disaster preparedness, responsible use of natural resources, and the preservation of our coastal and marine environment.
May this celebration inspire every kabarangay to become a responsible steward of our waters and to appreciate the importance of our maritime heritage.
Together, let us strengthen our maritime consciousness and protect our seas for the generations to come.
