The IVSA Standing Committee on One Health invites each Member Organization to nominate one representative to be part of the panel in the global panel discussion — “One Health in Action: Voices Around the World.”

This is your MO’s chance to showcase how veterinary students are putting the One Health approach into action through local initiatives and collaborations.

Today, on 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we recognize the importance of mental well-being in every profession, especially in veterinary medicine.

Veterinarians and DVM students often carry a unique emotional burden, navigating the highs of healing animals and the heartbreak of loss. Long hours, academic pressure, emotional fatigue, and the weight of responsibility can take a serious toll. It’s a reminder that behind every lab coat is a human being who deserves care, compassion, and support.

To all DVM students and licensed Veterinarians: your dedication is deeply valued, but 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧. proudly present an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Program dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership and strengthening community health.

📍 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: BASC Farmer’s Training Center (FTC)
💡 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐕𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑:
• Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear, but 100% preventable.
• Protects your family, especially children, from deadly bites.
• Required by law (RA 9482 – Anti-Rabies Act).
• There’s no cure for rabies — prevention is the only protection.

📋 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒:
• Bring your pet’s vaccination card, if available.
• Pets must be at least 3 months old.
• Keep dogs on a leash and cats in secure carriers.

🚫 𝐃𝐨 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞:
• Sick or injured
• Pregnant or nursing
• Aggressive or unrestrained

• Avoid bathing pets for 3–5 days after vaccination.

Last October 1, students from IVM, AnSci, Education, & DevCom came together to celebrate World Rabies Day & Animal Welfare Week. 🎉🐾

In three sessions, we highlighted that:
🌏 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 approach is the key to rabies elimination.
🚫 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 begins with awareness, timely care, and vaccination.
💻 The 𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 is freely accessible to empower us to act within our own communities.
