The program was organized to provide assistance and express gratitude to jeepney and tricycle drivers whose dedication and hard work help keep communities connected every day.

As essential members of the workforce, public transportation drivers continue to serve the public despite economic and personal challenges. Through this outreach activity, the university recognized their valuable contribution to society by extending support and appreciation, reflecting its commitment to community service, social responsibility, and the promotion of compassion for those who tirelessly serve others.

The Kamp/KPVI volunteer program was conducted from April 17 to 21, 2026 as part of a community-based initiative that promoted inclusive care, empathy, and holistic support for children with diverse developmental and sensory needs. The project addressed the growing need for safe, supportive, and inclusive environments for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down syndrome, as well as children who are deaf, blind, non-verbal, and with other developmental impairments. Through collaborative efforts, nursing student volunteers from NICAG-Pampanga and CON OCE together with NICAG-Antipolo, NICAG-Quezon City and joined by other participating institutions served as buddies and caregivers to the campers throughout the duration of the program.

The project successfully created a nurturing and inclusive environment where campers felt accepted, valued, and empowered. At the same time, nursing student volunteers were able to enhance their practical caregiving skills, communication abilities, teamwork, adaptability, and empathy beyond the classroom setting. The initiative demonstrated the importance of inclusive community engagement and highlighted the commitment of future healthcare professionals to holistic and compassionate care.

The activity aimed to extend compassion, support, and assistance to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) through the distribution of personal hygiene kits, burgers, snacks, and bottled drinks. The outreach activity was made possible through the collective efforts and donations of faculty members and staff volunteers. The program addressed the need for basic hygiene materials and emotional support among the beneficiaries. Through collaboration with BJMP
personnel, the faculty members successfully conducted the distribution program, prayer session, and motivational interaction with the PDLs.

The activity strengthened the values of volunteerism, empathy, and social responsibility among the participants while fostering a positive partnership between the university and the local government sector. The outreach program became a meaningful experience both for the volunteers and beneficiaries in the observance of the Lenten season.

Students from various colleges, including the College of Nursing, Psychology, and Engineering, participated in the activity and were assigned to different construction-related tasks such as excavation, steel beam tying, and soil flattening. Through these activities, the volunteers developed teamwork, leadership, and community engagement skills while contributing to a common humanitarian goal. The successful implementation of the program was made possible through the leadership and coordination of Sir Given Pineda (OLFU PAM OCE Coordinator) and Sir Dexter Basunillo (OCE Director), with the guidance and support of Prof. Alma Reina Rodriguez and Dean Arnel Buencamino.
