The CPSU San Carlos College Red Cross Youth Council provided first aid and safety coverage during Panagtagbo 2026 on July 31, 2026, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants throughout the event.

The Central Philippines State University (CPSU) San Carlos Campus collected 118 units of blood during a successful bloodletting drive held at Balangaw Hall today, August 6. The campus Red Cross Youth Council (CRCYC) and the National Service Training Program (NSTP) organized the event under the theme, "Red Wave: Waves of Compassion, Oceans of Hope." The initiative was supported by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Negros Occidental-Bacolod City Chapter Blood Bank, its San Carlos City Branch, and the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT).

More than 100 participantsโ€”including students, faculty members, private organizations, and local residentsโ€”turned up to support the humanitarian project. Barangay Health Workers from Brgy. Guadalupe assisted in conducting preliminary health screenings and vital signs checking.

Mr. Johannes Franz P. Curativo, PRC San Carlos Branch Coordinator, highlighted the critical need for a steady blood supply for accident victims, pregnant women, and surgical patients. He also noted that the campus-based council makes it easier for locals to request blood assistance."One bag of blood can save up to three lives," Curativo stated, adding that donation also benefits the donors by stimulating new blood cell production and offering a free medical screening.

โ€ŽThe meaningful activity was attended by the CPSU- CRCY volunteers, NSTP students and officers, MERT/MDHU team and ROTC Officers. The 708 participants are empowered to become confident in saving lives and equipped with knowledge and lifesaving skills.

โ€ŽParticipants were introduced to the fundamentals of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and gained hands-on demonstration experience. Throughout the activity, they learned the correct and proper ex*****on of performing CPR and gained valuable knowledge that are essential for providing immediate respond during life-threatening situations.

โ€ŽMore than just an activity, it serves as an opportunity to empower a new generation that are confident, compassionate and capable lifesavers.
