CONTEST OVERVIEW
In celebration of the Chinese New Year, this cosplay contest highlights characters inspired by Chinese mythology, legends, folklore, history, and Chinese fantasy, including representations from games, anime, movies, series, and comics rooted in Chinese culture.
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to ALL
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Participants below 18 years old must have parental/guardian consent
- Solo main contestant
- Backup characters allowed: Maximum of 2
ALLOWED CHARACTER SOURCES
Characters must be Chinese-inspired, including mythology, legends, historical figures, and Chinese fantasy.

REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION
Intent to Participate & Character Approval Deadline: February 17
Music / LED Animation Submission Deadline: February 18
CONTEST MECHANICS
Group Catwalk:
- Pure ramp walk only
- No introduction
Individual Performance:
- 1-minute character introduction read by emcee
- Performance proper: 2–3 minutes
- Set-up, entrance, and exit: maximum of 1 minute
- Backup characters allowed (max of 2)
JUDGING CRITERIA
Resemblance – 25%
Accuracy in appearance, hairstyle, makeup, costume, and props based on Chinese-inspired references
Craftsmanship – 25%
Quality of materials, creativity, workmanship, and attention to detail
Characterization – 20%
Authentic portrayal of the character through posture, expressions, movements, and mannerisms
Character Roleplay – 20%
Consistency in staying in character throughout the event, including interaction with attendees, fellow participants, and organizers
Audience Engagement – 10%
Ability to entertain and engage the audience, approachability while in character, and participation in photos or interactions
