Remember JUAN? We received a report of an owned, neglected dog in San Juan, Baybay a month ago. Because of his appearance, Juan often experienced cruelty from humans. Rescuer Cy Anisco dela Cruz facilitated his rescue and vet check at St. Clare Veterinary Clinic where Juan was diagnosed to have blood parasite and evident malnourishment. Juan has since been treated and neutered .

Unfortunately, due to our limited resources and Juan needing extensive rehabilitation before being adoption-ready, we had no choice but to release him back in San Juan, Baybay where we currently do not have partner stray feeders 😔

If you are a resident of San Juan and can regularly feed Juan, please reach out to us. We will offer support to create a community in your area.

We strive to complete a rescue's rehabilitation but cases like Juan are hard for us. We simply do not have the resources to rescue all animals.
That is why YOU MATTER. You can help. Sponsor, donate, volunteer, foster or adopt. Silong is only a handful of people. But together, we can do more.

Remember DAPING? She's the airport community stray who was a trike hit and run victim. She is ready for release from the vet! We are in need of a compassionate adopter for Daping because in her current state, she will not survive back in the streets 😔😔😔 She needs a safe, loving home who can guide her back to mobility. I am pleading to our animal advocates to consider taking her in. She needs an experienced handler who can provide kindness and patience.

Today is NATIONAL PET DAY! Always remember that your pet's happiness rests on your hands. Make sure their vaccines are up to date, that they get regular vet checks and they get enough enrichment activities to keep the boredom away 🐶🐱

Practice responsible pet ownership. Spay/neuter your pets. Adopt, don't shop. Advocate for them 💙

When will the people who are in the position to make a difference ever learn.

Every life taken is a reminder that we chose the wrong solution.

There is a better way. One that is humane, sustainable, and rooted in compassion. CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) protects communities while giving animals the chance to live. A chance to exist without suffering, without multiplying, without being seen as a problem that needs to be erased.

‼️ UPDATE on Pueblo Cat ‼️

We named the cat PEBBLES. As it turns out, Pebbles was not hit by a vehicle. His leg is an inborn defect 😔 While Pebbles survived the streets this long, it isn't safe to release him back in the location. We are hoping to find someone willing to ADOPT Pebbles. With a lot of love, patience and time, he will grow to be a happy and healthy cat.

JUANA IS FOUND ‼️The team found her at a nearby empty house hiding because the resident strays were all over the streets 😭😭😭 we are so, so happy! And so is Juana! We have the best team!

Thank you for leading the search party and not giving up Cy Anisco dela Cruz Anne Hilario Nikki Villarruz Arjohn Estañol 💙 Brgy Cogon residents were super helpful, super cooperative. We had a lot of volunteers who offered to look for Juana since day 1 under the scorching summer sun. This community is amazing! Thank you so so much!

Brgy Cogon, Baybay - One of our rescues JUANA did not return home from the pack walk two days ago. She is a senior and has very weak hind legs. She does not wander off too far from our gate, if she goes out at all. She never likes leaving the house. Our household has been searching for her morning til night since she got lost. We need your help. Help us find her.

This is the narrative and we must change it.

Full and utter disregard for an animal's life. For what, a performance? The problem lies on the entitlement & the abuse humans think they can get away with. In this case, by the same church who is mandated to spread the word of the God.

The Bible said: A righteous man regards the life of animals, but the tender mercies of the cruel are wicked.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃.

This is not just an assumption, it is a reasonable conclusion.

In a time meant to solemnly honor the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, an innocent animal was subjected to fear, pain, and ultimately, likely death. Where is the bird now? Gone, like the balloons that burst midair and fell without care. The poor creature.

Imagine being that bird, restrained, surrounded by sudden loud explosions as balloons pop one by one, unable to escape and set itself free. That is not symbolism. That is suffering and torture.

While we appreciate the recognition and acknowledgement of the incident as “regrettable” and the Bishop’s objection to the practice as well as the committed discontinuance thereof, his eminence’s mention that the “dove will be released immediately after the unveiling”, reflects the continued intention to use doves in the celebrations. In the same form and manner?

We express our highest respect and to our dear Bishop BUT NO, BISHOP PLEASE. THAT IS NOT THE POINT. Animal welfare concerns are real and urgent. Releasing the animal after the event does not undo the possible distress, mishandling, nor the possible cruelty it endured prior. The issue is not what happens after, it is that the animal should never have been placed in harm’s way to begin with.

Ending the use of live animals in harmful religious practices is not a rejection of tradition. It is a call to refine it so it truly reflects the compassion, dignity, and respect for life that these traditions are meant to uphold.
