Local resident, common on small islands like Mindanao, Basilan, Sulu archipelago, Tablas, Romblon, Sibuyan, Negros, Panay, Siquijor, Semirara, Cebu, Camiguin Sur.

Usapang Romblon endemic ba? Hindi magpapatalo diyan itong 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 o 𝘙𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘪.

Isa ito sa mga dapat makita kung kayo ay pupunta ng Romblon dahil tanging dito lang ito makikita! 🦜

Kusa itong lumapit sa amin habang kami ay nakatigil sa isang spot sa kagubatan at tumigil ng ilang minuto para magpose at hayaan kaming masilayan ang kanyang ganda. 💚✅

Wala pa rin akong maayos na kuha nito dahil ang likot nito! Hindi mapakali sa isang sanga. Hehe

Isa pa sa mga sumalubong sa amin kahapon ay itong 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 o 𝘊𝘺𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢.

Matutukoy mo ba saan dito ang lalaki at ang babaeng ibon?

Sa bukana palang ng forest ay narinig na namin agad ang alarm call nitong 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗳𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 pero hindi namin nakita agad, nagpatuloy kami sa pagpasok ng gubat na tila ba ay sinusundan kami nitong ibon na ito.

Nagpasya kaming tumigil nalang sa isang spot sa gubat upang magmasid. Laking gulat namin nang tumapat talaga sa amin itong ibon na ito at tumigil ng almost 5 minutes! Saktong sakto para masilayan namin ang kanyang ganda!

Ang ganda ng orange plumage nito! 🧡

Lalaki ito dahil mas mahaba ang buntot at mas maitim ang pagiging orange nito. Ang babae ay mas maikli ang buntot at mas mapusyaw ang orange plumage.

May counterpart ito na Southern Rufous Paradise Flycatcher na makikita lang sa ibabang parte ng Visayas at Mindanao.

Salamat sa mga sumama sa ating first birdwatching activity! 😍

Nagpakita at lumapit pa sa amin ang mga target birds! Hindi nagpakita sa amin ang Tablas Bulbul habang papasok kami sa forest pero naririnig namin sila. Noong papauwi na kami ay bigla silang nagpakita! Alam siguro nila na dapat masulit ang aming punta sa forest. 😂
