FIRST DAY - Merit Badge Training
PIONEERING : Pioneering in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Senior Scouting program is the skill of building structures using poles and ropes. It involves using knots and lashings to create useful camp structures. Common projects include towers, bridges, tables, and gateways. It teaches teamwork, planning, and problem-solving. Overall, it is a practical outdoor engineering skill used in scouting activities. ๐ชข
First Aid: First aid in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Senior Scouting program is the skill of giving immediate care to someone who is injured or suddenly ill. It includes basic treatments like cleaning wounds, bandaging, and helping with sprains or burns. Scouts are trained to respond calmly and safely during emergencies. It also involves knowing when and how to seek professional medical help. Overall, it is a life-saving skill used to protect and assist others in different situations.โ๏ธ๐ฉน
Wildlife Conservation: Wildlife conservation in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Senior Scouting program is the practice of protecting animals, plants, and their natural habitats. Soil & Water Conservation: Soil and water conservation in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Senior Scouting program is the practice of protecting soil and water resources from damage and pollution. It teaches scouts how to prevent soil erosion and conserve clean water. Activities may include tree planting, proper waste disposal, and building drainage systems.
Scouts also learn the importance of sustainable use of natural resources. Overall, it promotes caring for the environment to ensure resources are available for the future.๐๏ธ
K-Scout has learned MANY skills during these training sessions like learning the basic knots, lashing and pioneering. K-Scouts also learned how to Bandage injuries, wounds and fractures only using their Neckerchiefs! K-Scouts were thought to observe plants and animals around the school to learn the importance of conserving the wildlife in our country. Conserving Wildlife wasn't the only conservation activity K-Scouts learned, they also learned how to build Water Filters connected to the Soil & Water Conservation Merit Badge.
