The Kontra Gutom Foundation successfully conducted the "KonekTayo: Barangay to the Community Food Hub System" outreach program last March 29, 2026, at Sitio Adia Tumana, Rodriguez, Rizal. Through our collective efforts, we distributed fresh produce to approximately 170 families in the community✨

Directly sourced from our local farmers, these goods represent more than just a distribution of food, they reflect our commitment to supporting the backbone of our agriculture while addressing food security💛🌾

| Matagumpay na naisagawa ng Kontra Gutom Foundation (KGF), isang NYC-YORP accredited non-profit organization na nagsusulong ng SDG 2 “Zero Hunger,” ang seminar na may temang “Lupa, Buhay, Bayan: Compassionate Understanding of Food Insecurity and Youth Leadership in Just Food Systems.”

Ito ay ginanap noong Enero 31, 2026 sa Conference Hall ng San Jose National High School, Brgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal.

Tinalakay sa seminar ang mga pangunahing teknik sa pagsasaka, ang mga hamon na kinahaharap ng sektor ng agrikultura, at ang isyu ng food insecurity sa bansa.

Binigyang-diin din ang kahalagahan ng community-based solutions at aktibong pakikilahok ng kabataan sa pagbuo ng mas inklusibo, makatarungan, at sustenableng food systems.

Tampok sa programa ang dalawang tagapagsalita: Ma’am Margie Candiza-Avendaño, isang lisensyadong agriculturist, educator, at advocate na nagtataguyod ng food empowerment para sa mga magsasaka at kabataan; at Ma’am Jennelyn M. Serrano, isang farm owner, graduate ng Bachelor in Agriculture Technology, at kasalukuyang SK Secretary ng Brgy. Macabud, Rodriguez, na nagbahagi ng kanyang hands-on na karanasan sa pagsasaka at grassroots governance.

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat ang KGF sa lahat ng dumalo at sumuporta sa kanilang adbokasiya.

The Kontra Gutom Foundation first held its workshop and seminar entitled “Lupa, Buhay, Bayan: Compassionate Understanding of Food Insecurity and Youth Leadership in Just Food Systems” on January 31, 2026, at San Jose National High School.

The discussion highlighted the basic farming techniques and problems that the agriculture discipline faces today. Further, participants also delve into food insecurity and youth participation for sustainability.

A graduate of Bachelor in Agriculture Technology, a farm owner, and the Sangguniang Kabataan Secretary of Barangay Macabud, Rodriguez, Rizal, she brings both hands-on agricultural experience and grassroots governance into her work.

She will deliver an insightful discussion on food insecurity in the Philippines, emphasizing community-based solutions and the vital role of youth participation in building inclusive, just, and sustainable food systems.
