TOWARDS A FUTURE WITH STRONGER LGBTIQ+ POLITICAL REPRESENTATION 🌈✊🏽

Last May 19, Executive Director Red Raz joined CSOs at the IDAHOBIT celebration organized by the Embassies of Colombia and Spain as co-chairs of the Equal Rights Coalition. PANTAY highlighted the barriers faced by LGBTIQ+ leaders in Philippine politics such as stigma and harmful norms.

PANTAY shared their PINOY LGBTIQ+ POWER Program, demonstrating that support for local leadership can help shape a more inclusive and participatory democracy.

EQUIPPING YOUNG PEOPLE TO CHAMPION SRMHR IN THEIR SCHOOLS 🏫💬

Last April 25 to 30, held its first capacity development session for iCARE 2.0 where students and school personnel wrapped up a 5-day workshop that equipped them with deeper knowledge on HIV & STIs, Adolescent SRHR, Mental Health, and SOGIESC — alongside facilitation, public speaking, and training management skills. 🩷🩵

💡 2.0 (Advancing School-based SRMHR Advocacy and Expansion of the iCARE Program) is a young q***r-led project under and supported by EMpower, that aims to enable more schools to champion Sexual, Reproductive, and Mental Health and Rights (SRMHR) education and services.

CAVITE MAKES HISTORY FOR INCLUSIVE CARE 🌈🏥

The movement for inclusive healthcare in Cavite continues to grow stronger. After Dasmariñas City recently passed its own Right to Care Ordinance, the Province of Cavite now takes the movement even further by institutionalizing the country’s first province-wide policy recognizing LGBTIQ+ couples, chosen families, solo parents, single individuals, and non-traditional households in healthcare settings.

This milestone reflects a growing recognition that families come in many forms and that healthcare policies must evolve to protect and include everyone, especially in moments of medical need. As local governments continue to pass Right to Care Ordinances one after another, the call becomes louder for national legislation that recognizes rainbow families and every form of family across the country. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
