Empowered, United, and Resilient: A Citywide Celebration of National Solo Parents Week 2026 💜✨
Yesterday, April 24, 2026, the M.I.C.E. Center in Quezon City was transformed into a hub of hope and inspiration. The District 3 Solo Parent Federation Inc. proudly joined the grand celebration of National Solo Parents Week, standing tall alongside our fellow solo parents from Districts 1 to 6.
It was a powerful testament to our community spirit: in Quezon City, no solo parent walks alone. From the early morning hours, the atmosphere buzzed with energy, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to building a brighter, more secure future for our families.
A Heartfelt Thank You
This milestone event was made possible through the tireless efforts of the Social Services Development Department (SSDD). We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Milagros Baluyot, Head of the Solo Parent Department, for her unwavering dedication to our sector. Under her visionary leadership, the SSDD continues to champion programs that provide genuine support and sustainable solutions for solo-parent households.
More Than Just a Celebration: Paving the Way for Opportunities, Yesterday was about more than just gathering—it was about empowerment. To ensure our members have the tools they need to succeed, various government agencies were on-site to provide direct services, consultations, and applications, including:
•Tindahan ni Ate Joy (Livelihood Support)
•PhilHealth (Health Security)
•TESDA & CHED (Educational & Skills Training)..and many more!
We move forward with stronger bonds and a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that together, we are an unstoppable force for our children and our city.
Hon. Alice Fontillas-Del Rosario
