Brief History
Like a baby fresh from the her mother’s womb, the Rotary of North Balintawak was first conceived by the Board of Directors of RC Balintawak on August 3, 1984, when it was approved the organization of new extension club under the leadership of Pres. Ed Estrella also a DCSR from Balintawak in coordination with Dist. Extension Chairman, PP Tony Pascual. On August 25, 1
984, the Board of RC Balintawak approved the creation of an extension Committee with Sec. Buster Songsong as chairman and directors Ben Limjoco and Romy Gomez as members. Regular weekly meeting were held at the SFDM Center every Monday evening. Thereafter, things moved quickly and by the time the prospective charter members reached twenty two (22), an election of the board of directors were held. The following were elected: Buster Songsong, as Charter President, Fred Flores, Mart Gaspar, Jun Velasquez, Greg Martinez, Pepe Maniquiz, Taas Malolos, Teng Bagtas, Rolly Atanacio, Teddy Marquez and Romy Cabrera. RCNB Charter has been signed on JANUARY 9, 1985. Rotary year 1985-86 under the extended leadership of CP Buster Songsong, the club has since taken giant steps in the expanding world of Rotary.
