Philippine Action for Community-led Shelter Initiatives, Inc. and Homeless People’s Federation Philippines, Inc. conducted the Mindanao Youth Gathering involving the three cities of Davao City, Digos, and Kidapawan from May 22–24, as part of the strategic direction of strengthening and developing the HPFPI youth sector, which has been identified as a key priority of the federation.

One of the initial steps toward realizing this goal is to convene youth leaders and members through consultations, dialogue, and capacity-building activities.

The gathering served as a venue for learning, sharing experiences, and strengthening solidarity among young community leaders across Mindanao.

These engagements aim to guide and support the youth in mobilizing their groups, strengthening their plans and initiatives, and building more organized and sustainable citywide youth platforms.

Through this process, the youth are encouraged to actively participate in community development, leadership, and youth federation-building efforts, while contributing to the long-term vision and sustainability of the federation.

Ever noticed how some places in the Philippines feel like the best of both worlds?

One minute you’re passing by a literal rice field or a bahay kubo, and the next minute, you’re pulling into a huge mall. That’s 𝙍𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣!

As our homes become "𝙧𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙣," we face new challenges, like flash floods and crowded housing. That’s where 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗨𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗘 comes in!

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟯 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀:
• 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: We combine expert maps with the actual experiences of residents to find out who is most at risk.
• 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿: We’re pushing for urban planning that protects everyone, especially families in informal settlements.
• 𝗣𝗿𝗼-𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: We bring scientists and communities together to build practical, local ways to fight climate change.

Together, we're building a future that's not just modern, but safe and fair for every Filipino family.
