This History Month, the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation invites you to remember, reflect, and celebrate our shared history through special screenings of LAKAMBINI, produced by Pelikulove.

More than a historical film, Lakambini brings to life the story of Gregoria de Jesus—the Lakambini of the Katipunan—whose courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to preserving the memory of the Revolution continue to inspire generations.
Her legacy finds resonance in the mission of Bantayog ng mga Bayani: to safeguard historical truth, honor those who resisted Martial Law, and keep alive the stories of courage that shape our nation.

Join us on August 15, 2026, at the Yuchengco Auditorium, Bantayog Memorial Center.

🕤 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

July 1st marks the 10th year of the official launch of what was supposed to be a nationwide anti-illegal drugs campaign that turned out to be a blood bath against mostly poor people and communities. Project Double Barrel, the police operation directed by then police chief and now fugitive senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa under the Duterte administration, left thousands of Filipinos dead, widows, orphans and bereaved families seeking justice. The true figures remain unknown.

On July 1 this year, families, friends and advocates gather at Bantayog ng mga Bayani, to take strength and resolve from each other as they pursue justice that has been denied them for years.

In celebration of the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence, Bantayog ng mga Bayani, in partnership with Pelikulove, presents the acclaimed film LAKAMBINI by Arjanmar H. Rebeta and produced by Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil.

Lakambini ng Katipunan honors Gregoria de Jesus (Oriang), a leading heroine of the Philippine Revolution who safeguarded the Katipunan’s documents and preserved the memory of the struggle for freedom. Her dedication to truth, patriotism, and collective memory ensured that the sacrifices of the revolution would not be forgotten.

In the same spirit, Bantayog ng mga Bayani preserves the stories, documents, and memories of those who resisted Martial Law. By safeguarding historical truth and honoring the heroes and martyrs of the dictatorship, Bantayog continues Oriang’s legacy of protecting memory, defending freedom, and inspiring future generations.
