It continually strives to be an internationally recognized organization of competent and compassionate medical oncologists inspired and committed to integrate a multidisciplinary approach to the optimal care of the Filipino cancer patient. It provides opportunities for continuing medical education and further professional development of its members. PSMO educates the public at large and allied medical specialties on the holistic approach to the care of cancer patients and their families. Isa ang cervical cancer sa pinakamadalas na cancer ng kababaihan dito sa Pilipinas.

Cervical cancer develops kapag ang abnormal cells sa cervix ay walang tigil na lumalaki, madalas dahil sa persistent high-risk HPV infection. Dahil dahan-dahan itong nagpo-progress sa loob ng maraming taon, mayroon tayong pagkakataon na ma-detect at ma-address ito bago pa maging invasive.

Ang dalawang pinaka-epektibong hakbang para maiwasan:
- magpabakuna laban sa HPV
- magpascreening regularly

Hindi kailangang hintayin ang symptoms. Early action saves lives.
