Last May 4, 2026, our seniors took center stage as they presented their research and insights during this yearโ€™s colloquium, an initiative organized by the classes of IPPS 107 and GGDS 107.

The afternoon was marked by meaningful discussions and exchanges that explored a wide range of topicsโ€”from politics and power structures to gender, identity, and womenโ€™s experiences. Through their presentations, the seniors demonstrated not only their academic rigor and research skills but also their commitment to examining issues that shape everyday life and society.

Beyond the presentations themselves, the Colloquium fostered a space for dialogue where participants were encouraged to listen, reflect, and engage with diverse perspectives; The thoughtful questions and discussions that followed each presentation enriched the experience, transforming the event into a collaborative exchange of ideas and knowledge.

As the event came to a close, it served as a reminder of the importance of critical inquiry and meaningful conversations in understanding the world around us.

Congratulations to our seniors for their hard work and dedication to making this yearโ€™s colloquium a successful and enriching experience!

Last May 04, 2026, the Miriam College Henry Sy Innovation Center came alive as students, faculty, and guests gathered to celebrate the opening of International Development, Innovation, and Sustainability (IDIS) Month under the inspiring theme, โ€œ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’“๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ต๐’†๐’˜ ๐‘ฉ๐’†๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’”โ€ The event marked not only the start of a month-long celebration, but also a meaningful milestone in the continuing growth, transformation, and vision of the program.

The celebration featured insightful keynote speakers, including distinguished alumni of the International Studies program, who shared their journeys, experiences, and reflections beyond the classroom. Their stories served as both inspiration and motivation for students, reminding everyone of the endless opportunities that await through leadership, innovation, and global engagement.

Adding energy and excitement to the event were the programโ€™s valued partners and organizations, who set up interactive booths around the Innovation Center. Students enthusiastically explored each exhibit, participated in activities, and discovered new ideas, opportunities, and advocacies that embody the spirit of development and sustainability.

The program concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from International Studies Society President ๐‘น๐’‚๐’Š๐’”๐’‰๐’‚ ๐‘ฉ๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’๐’Š (3rd Year BAIS) , who emphasized the importance of embracing change while remaining grounded in the programโ€™s shared mission and values. One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the unveiling of the new International Development, Innovation, and Sustainability logo, creatively designed by student ๐‘ฌ๐’–๐’๐’‚๐’๐’š๐’ ๐‘น๐’‚๐’‡๐’‚๐’๐’๐’ (1st Year - BA IDIS) โ€” a symbol that reflects the programโ€™s evolving identity, aspirations, and future direction.

More than just an opening celebration, IDIS Month represented a bold step toward new possibilities. It stood as a reminder that every transition carries the promise of growth, and that this new chapter for IDIS is only the beginning of something greater for the community it continues to build and inspire.
