Cats of Eastwood City

Cats of Eastwood City We are a group of volunteers from Eastwood City and we look after the stray cats here. I created this page for the Cats in Eastwood City.

I have been feeding the cats here since I started working here. I am trying my best to provide them food and water. I am also a member of other Animal groups that share the awareness of adopting and rescuing stray animals. I created this page so that people can get to know them and hopefully be interested in adopting them or provide them food and water. I am also thinking of providing them a shelt

er but I will not be able to do it by myself. If you will be interested in taking care of these cats, you may get in touch with me through this page.

This is Midnight now. He does look extremely skinny and has lost alot of hair - but he is NOT sick. However still recovering from his mouth trauma a few weeks ago.

Confinement caused him to lose alot of weight and muscle, and over-groom. He needed to get back outside to exercise, fatten him up to get him back looking like his former, glorious self.

He is back in the cat park area near Dunkin' and is fond of kibble and licky treats if you are passing by. Please use the bowls in the area and don't drop food on the ground. He adores human contact.

R.I.P. babies.

3 cats and 6 kittens have now died. Sassy and her two remaining kittens are in confinement on IV's. This is most likely as a result of Calicivirus / Parvo. We are doing the best we can to disinfect all areas where cats eat to mitigate the spread of these feline viruses. Although the source appears to be localized to mostly one spot.

Our next step is 4-in-1 vaccinations for as many cats as we can in the area to lower the chances of transmission further.

We are not just paying for treatment anymore, but funerals as well - We've been asking alot from the community lately, but any amount you can spare will help get us though this disaster and help prevent another one.

***** Update *****

The most likely cause of death was Calicivirus or Parvo.

We have lost our beloved Presley since then and 6 kittens, the surviving kittens are positive for Parvo and Calicivirus

Bear was rushed to Manila Feline today and died very shortly afterwards. It's unclear what happened as we could not get an autopsy done.

But findings point to a possible ̶t̶o̶x̶i̶n̶ being involved - unlikely to be intentional or fed to them, as examination showed no trauma and extreme dehydration which would have happened over a number of days.

Two other cats were showing symptoms of ̶P̶o̶i̶s̶o̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ as well, but seem to be recovering after being promptly given activated charcoal.

Any little you can give can help with our mounting veterinary bills and funeral costs.

Thank you.

Last Wednesday we had our first TVNR event in Eastwood City. With 71 cats spayed / neutered courtesy of Quezon City Veterinary Department.

Despite it being a wet, thundery day we had a great turn out with both cats and dog owners availing of the free service provided.

Thank you to everyone involved with the event, especially the City Vet, Eastwood management (thank you Kux, and Patricia) and Bngy Capt Alex.

Edit:

Thurday night, Midnight, one of our most beloved cats got stuck in bushes with a collar in his mouth resulting some really bad injuries too his mouth.

He needs medical attention for the infection and possibly hospitalization. Elly and Michael, some of our wonderful volunteers will be bringing him and could do with your assistance in funding the vet bill.

He managed to get out of his cage by morning, either by himself somehow or with the help of a human. He was found a short while ago and is now being transported to Manila Feline for treatment for an infection in his lips and mouth & severe dehydration.

Midnight, and some other cats in the area, have had issues in the past with collars (even breakaway ones) and he should not have had one at all. This was an unfortunate oversight and we are in the process of removing all non-breakaway collars from other cats in the area in case this could happen again.

Big thank you to Elle, Michael and the guards who found him to tell us.

No, they aren't being removed!

But these 10x babymakers won't be having any more kittens. We expect them back after Kapon when they are recovered in a few days.

Thank you Biyaya Animal Care Eastwood City YGTN and our volunteers.
