Doctors, nurses, midwives, university professors, child protection advocates, private individuals, and youth group representatives came together for an initial conversation on dignified circumcision during the Round Table Discussion entitled:

“Protecting Boys’ Dignity: Addressing Disparities in Circumcision Practices in the Philippines” held in observance of Blue Umbrella Day. 💙

The discussion highlighted the importance of child protection, dignity, safety, and ethical practices in circumcision procedures. Through meaningful dialogue and shared perspectives, participants emphasized the need for child-sensitive and rights-based approaches that uphold the welfare and dignity of every boy.

Together, we continue to advocate for safer, more respectful, and protective practices for children and communities. 💙

From May 18–21, 2026, educators, child protection focal persons, and guidance teachers gathered in Dipolog City for the “Training of Teachers: Delivering Effective Personal Safety Lessons for Child Protection in School” — a 4-day Training of Trainers focused on strengthening child protection mechanisms, handling disclosures, understanding child s*xual abuse and OSAEC, and equipping schools to deliver effective Personal Safety Lessons (PSL).

Through workshops, simulations, role-playing, and collaborative learning, participants deepened their commitment to protecting children both offline and online.

This activity is part of the project “Stopping Cybercrime Against Children: More Safety and Protection on the Internet”, reinforcing our collective responsibility to ensure that every child grows up in a safe, protected, and empowering environment.

Join CPTCSA on May 18, 2026 for a roundtable discussion:
“Protecting Boys’ Dignity: Addressing Disparities in Circumcision Practices in the Philippines.”

This event will bring together different voices to talk about how circumcision practices can better protect boys’ dignity and well-being. CPTCSA will also share research on the possible emotional impact on some boys, especially in public settings.
