“Believers ought to be so captivated by the excellencies of Christ that they are compelled to eagerly proclaim those same excellencies of Christ to a world that does not know Christ.”

Had a wonderful time over the past two days speaking at Bob Jones Memorial Bible College’s Prism Seminar. On Wednesday, we covered three afternoon sessions entitled “The Light Speaks: Discovering the Jesus of John’s Gospel.”

1. The Down of Light
2. The Word of Light
3. The God of Light

On Thursday we were able to share some material directly from the Sego Lily Foundation regarding LDS Evangelism.

1. History of the LDS Church
2. Theology of Momonism (Part 1)
3. Theology of Mormonism (Part 2)
4. What are LDS Temples?
5. Q&A
6. LDS Evangelism Role Play

This was a wonderful time of not only educating students and local pastors on LDS history and doctrine, but also practically equipping them to have conversations with Latter-day Saints they meet.

We are praying that the Lord will powerfully use these students as they go into the ministry here in Metro Manila and across the country to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Had a wonderful time in Davao City yesterday teaching several sessions about LDS evangelism at Harvest Hills Baptist Church. We’re thankful for pastor Borneo, pastor B**g, and all the wonderful people at Harvest Hills and the surrounding churches!

We were able to hold 4 sessions:
1. History of the LDS Church
2. Theology of Mormonism
3. Temples in Mormonism
4. Evangelism Q&A

Davao City is home to a number of different religions, including the LDS Church. With a new LDS temple just built in the heart of the city, we are grateful for the opportunity to help believers both learn more about the LDS church and equip these faithful Christians for evangelistic conversations with Latter-day Saints they encounter. Pray for them as they have these opportunities!

Thankful for all those who helped make this possible!

“Filipino hospitality is not just about offering food—it’s about offering your heart.”

Had a wonderful time today preaching and teaching at Lighthouse Bible Believer’s Church in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines!

Very thankful for this gracious body of believers here who clearly love God and have a deep passion for others.

During our time we covered three different sessions:

AM Service – Sent by Christ - John 20:21
Sunday School – History of Mormonism: Helping Christians understand the origins of the LDS Church
Evening Service – Theology of Mormonism: Helping Christians navigate theological conversations with Latter-Day Saints

Tomorrow morning we will be leaving around 2:00 am to catch a flight about 600miles south to Davao City where will be teaching a multi-church seminar on LDS evangelism. We would appreciate your prayers for safe travels and that the Lord would use the content we bring to be a blessing to the Christians in Davao City.

In recent years, the LDS Church has embarked on an aggressive, worldwide Temple building program. Two LDS Temples are being opened in 2026 in the Philippines: Alabang, within metro-Manila (1/18) and Davao City (5/3). The LDS Church has a strong presence among the Filipino people: 800K members, 4 Temples, 1200 wards, and 23 missions.

We reached out to Bible-believing, Filipino Christians to offer assistance in LDS evangelism, and they eagerly accepted! And thanks to generous donations from Gospel Fellowship Association (flights) and Westside Baptist Church in Saint George (ministry expenses), we will be ministering in the Philippines from Sunday, 3/22 through Saturday, 3/28.

The trip will be a whirlwind: 4 churches, 2 conferences at Bob Jones Memorial College, and a variety of other speaking engagements. We will conduct 23 different sessions in just 7 days. Mid-trip, we will fly to Davao City, which is about 600 miles south of Manila on the island of Mindanao. See below for prayer requests and a complete itinerary. We are extremely excited for the opportunity and pray God’s blessing on it.

"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins (2) in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— (3) among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. (4) But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, (5) even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— (6) and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (7) so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (8) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, (9) not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

How do you help a friend who has left, or is leaving the LDS church?

Often times in these situations your friend may feel very self-assured. For example: "I’m at peace with my faith journey – I think God accepts all genuine people and I’m certain He will open His arms to me when I die."

When someone is spiritually self-assured, arguments won’t win the day... but love, thoughtful questions, and Scripture might.

In “A Word for the Self-Assured,” we highlight three practical approaches:

• Empathize hopefully – Listen with compassion and point to God’s grace.
• Evaluate lovingly – Ask thoughtful questions that encourage reflection.
• Encourage biblically – Open the Bible together and let God’s Word speak.

Confidence in self isn’t the same as confidence in Christ. Let’s be faithful, patient, and grounded in Scripture as we engage meaningful conversations.

Should I Pray about the Book of Mormon?

This is a question many Christians face early on in their evangelistic efforts to Latter-day Saints.

So how should you respond?

One of the previous blog articles addresses this very question, giving perspective for how we should begin to think of this question, criteria for evaluating whether a prophetic work is true or not, and how we should respond as Christians when this question is presented.

God has always been.

Not in a sense of purpose or destiny,

But he has always existed apart from anyone or anything.

He is the self-existent Creator of all things.

"He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." (Col 1:17)

To David, mountains were a great force of nature, rising up above the rest of the landscape, offering a high vantage point for battle, providing a source of spring water, and giving a place to behold the spendor of all God's creation.

Yet before even these large, unmovable objects were formed, even before any other aspect of creation was formed,

There was God.

A God who has always existed.

A God who has existed from everlasting, and then from that point, everlasting.

The point is this:

God is BIG. We are small.

Tragically, is at the point when we reduce God to the human mind that God simply becomes nothing more than an enlightened or progressed man. Quickly, we fall into perilous waters.

Take God for who He is:

not a progressed man,
not an enlightened being,
not an inactive deity,

But rather, the Everlasting and Almighty God.

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."
Psalm 90:2

“When we begin meditating on God, when we begin communing with God we are going back to the very fundamental reason why we are here, to know God. We don’t add to God, but God adds to us by His mere existence. And we can share in that when we know Him and love Him and commune with Him.”
