Paano matitiyak na ang bawat learner— lalo na ang learners with disabilities- ay may pantay na pagkakataong matuto, makilahok, umunlad, at mapabilang?

Ngayong Agosto 19, 2026 | Miyerkules | 3:00–4:00 PM, samahan ang InkluNasyon sa pagtalakay ng Special Needs Education (SNED) at Inclusive Education (IE], kabilang ang suportang pang-edukasyon, panlipunan, at pangkaunlaran para sa learners with disabilities. Susuriin din ang mga hamong dapat tugunan upang maging tunay na inklusibo ang mga paaralan at edukasyon sa pangkalahatan. Dahil ang inclusive education ay hindi lamang ang pagpasok sa paaralan, kung hindi ang karapatan para sa tamang lugar ng bawat mag-aaral. Walang maiiwan!

Ang bawat kabataang may kapansanan ay may sariling kuwento—mga pangarap na gustong maabot, mga hamong nalampasan at mga tagumpay na bunga ng kanilang sipag, tapang at determinasyon.
Sa episode na ito ng Inklunasyon, makikilala natin ang mga kabataang may kapansanan na patuloy na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa kanilang komunidad. Maririnig natin ang kanilang mga karanasan, pananaw at mga adhikain para sa isang lipunang tunay na inklusibo at may pantay na oportunidad para sa lahat.
Inaanyayahan namin ang lahat—mga kabataan, magulang, g**o, organisasyon at mgaka-inklunasyon na makiisa sa usapang ito. Sama-sama nating kilalanin ang kakayahan ng bawat isa at palakasin ang boses ng mga kabataang may kapansanan.

LIVE | White Cane: Seeing Rights Beyond Sight

Tuwing Agosto 1, ipinagdiriwang sa buong Pilipinas ang White Cane Safety Day—isang mahalagang paalala na ang puting tungkod ay hindi lamang pantulong sa paglalakad. Simbolo rin ito ng kalayaan, dignidad, seguridad, at karapatan ng mga bulag at persons with visual impairment na makilahok nang buo sa lipunan.

Sa episode ng InkluNasyon ngayong Agosto 5, pag-uusapan natin ang mga karapatan, karanasan, at hamong kinakaharap ng mga gumagamit ng white cane—mula sa ligtas at accessible na mga kalsada at pampublikong lugar hanggang sa pantay na oportunidad sa edukasyon, trabaho, at komunidad.

AFPO proudly participates in the Patient Journey Mapping and Technical Writeshop on the Manual of Operations and Procedures (MOP) for Disability Categorization in the Philippines, led by the Department of Health – Disease Prevention and Control Bureau in collaboration with Physicians for Peace-Philippines and UNICEF

Together with key stakeholders, AFPO contributes the perspective of the Prosthetics and Orthotics profession in advancing inclusive policies, strengthening rehabilitation services, and promoting equitable access for persons with disabilities.

Together, we move closer to a more inclusive, accessible, and responsive healthcare system for every Filipino. 🇵🇭♿

Yesterday various Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists members and colleagues from different clinics and institutions took part in a meaningful workshop toward more inclusive healthcare and accessible benefits for persons with disabilities. We are glad to hear best practices , delivered by CPOs from UERM Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation , Lithe Orthotics and Prosthetics , MediWalk Prosthetics and Orthotics, Cotabato Regional and Medical Center-PMRdept. This also helped strengthen disability benefit packages through PhilHealth! 🦾
Organized and led by Physician for Peace- Philippines, Philhealth and DOST-PCHRD studies team.

We have recently been made aware of circulating information online suggesting that Prosthetics and Orthotics can be learned through short-term courses. This post aims to clarify our position and reaffirm the standards in our profession.

Prosthetics and Orthotics is a highly specialized healthcare field that demands formal education, structured clinical training, and a recognized certification to ensure patient safety and quality care.

In response, the AFPO has issued a public advisory regarding the said short-term programs. We encourage everyone to verify the legitimacy, accreditation, and scope of such courses before enrolling. Kindly stay informed and help prevent the spread of misinformation.
