As this Rotary year draws to a close, the ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐น๐๐ฏ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฃ๐๐น๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ๐ reflects on how we can sustain and deepen our impact beyond our usual community engagements, particularly in advancing environmental responsibility.
We observed how our clubโs community project tarpaulins used throughout this term were frequently utilized for various initiatives. While these served their purpose well, we also recognized the environmental impact once they are no longer in use. In response, ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐น๐ถ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ, which also included our own used materials, and we are able to gather a total of ๐๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ญ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐น๐ถ๐ป๐.
Instead of disposing of them, we chose to give them a second life. Through collective effort, creativity, and teamwork, these tarpaulins were upcycled into ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ-๐ณ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐น๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ด๐, turning what was once waste into something functional and meaningful.
These eco bags were then ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฏ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ to market goers, serving as practical โ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ด๐โ that help reduce the use of single-use plastics while promoting sustainable everyday habits within the community.
As this term comes to a close, this project stands as a reminder that even simple initiatives can create lasting impactโwhen guided by purpose, collaboration, and a commitment to serve both people and the environment. ๐ฟ๐
