(NBKFI) traces its humble beginning in the early part of 2001 when a group of civic leaders, members of the academe, and professionals conceived the idea of establishing an environment-focused foundation. After a series of organizational meetings, seven individuals mostly school teachers and a medical doctor decided to formally establish the Nabunturan Balik-Kinaiyahan Foundation which was incorpo

rated on June 20, 2001. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization duly registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC REG. D2001-00584) with the primary purpose of promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable development through public education and awareness programs and community mobilization.
