Every March, the Philippines observes National Women’s Month to celebrate women’s achievements, highlight their contributions to nation‑building, and promote gender equality and empowerment as part of the global observance of International Women’s Day. The month‑long celebration is grounded in national legal mandates including Proclamation No. 227, s. 1988, which declares March as Women’s Role in History Month.

The Local Government Unit of Naawan formally commenced its Women’s Month activities during Monday’s flag‑raising ceremony, led by Mayor Dennis L. Roa. As part of the program, roses were distributed to women employees and constituents as a symbol of appreciation and recognition. The initiative was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) under the guidance of Ms. Hacelyn B. Barrero, with additional activities expected throughout the month to further honor and empower women in the community.
