MAP Agribusiness and Countryside Development Foundation We are the AgriBusiness and Countryside Development Foundation Inc.

As a principal activity, we hold regular breakfast forums on Tuesdays with topics relevant to our advocacy and to the times. It is to these forums that we invite speakers who are leaders in their fields or are innovators for meaningful change. Our Board of Trustees and membership list is composed of active and retired men and women who are successful entrepreneurs, owners of medium and large scale

businesses, professional managers with the rank of Chairman or President, previous government technocrats up to the rank of Cabinet Secretary and distinguished academicians. 1. Sweet potato is a staple in Bicol. Farmers use indigenous methods for planting, pest control, and storage.
2. 33 strains were collected; 18 showed good yield, vigor, and pest resistance.
3. Sweet potato is part of Bicolano culture, with traditional tools, planting seasons, and family labor.
4. Farmers struggle with low yield, pests, and poor facilities, but seed banks, processing, and farmer groups can help.
The Speaker:
• Registered Agriculturist with a Master’s in Public Management (Rural and Agricultural Development).
• Senior Science Research Specialist at the Department of Agriculture, Regional Field Office 5.
• Regional Focal Person for several crops: pili, cacao, pigeon pea, onion, and sweet potato.
• Provides training and technical support to farmers’ groups on crop production and management.
