Soroptimist International of Pasig joins KABGGOV in National University East Ortigas through the invitation of Pasig City Councilor "Coach" Paul Senogat, Sept 11, 2026

NU East Ortigas is the third school where KABATAAN PARA SA GOOD GOVERNANCE brought the conversation on good governance, accountability, and youth participation among the students. KABGGOV seeks to empower and mobilize the youth to actively participate in good governance, civic responsibility, and active citizenship, with the full support of Mayor Vico Sotto

Under ACCESS TO EDUCATION (A.T.E.), SI Pasig, as an accredited CSO of Pasig, supports the mission of KABGGOV as we share a mutual commitment to youth empowerment, active civic participation, and community leadership development in Pasig City. This is clearly manifested in the YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CAMP - Rise of Responsible Citizens which SI Pasig co-hosts with the Pasig City CSO Academy.

The summit was an opportunity for SI Pasig, with SI Ortigas and the Environs, to share our LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD on-going search for applicants. It also connected us with Ms. Helinor Medina, who serves as the Community Extension, National Service Training Program (NSTP), and Educational Technology Coordinator at NU East Ortigas, for possible future collaboration.

Thank you, Coach Paul, for inviting us to this youth summit!

Present for SI Pasig were charter president Susan Jhocson Macion, PRO Ardie Dawal and Louniza Napay. Joining us was SI Soroptimist International of Ortigas & Environs President Charisse Roldan.

SI Pasig's LYDA club winner 2024-2025 Melissa Faith Melchor from the City Treasurer's Office joined us in the courtesy call.

Soroptimist International of Pasig represents in the Pasig City Pride Development Council, a significant milestone in our journey as a CSO accredited organization!

We are incredibly proud to have our dedicated and passionate PRO and Membership Committee Chair, Ardie Dawal, serving as one of the CSO representatives in the council. They were formally introduced during the CY 2026 Second Semester Meeting.

Congratulations, Ardie, and all the best! As Soroptimist International, we firmly believe that "civil society engagement must go beyond consultation".

"Consultation is not the same as participation. Civil society organisations and gender equality advocates need direct opportunities to share expertise, make recommendations and help shape outcomes."

It is still Soroptimist Week for SI Pasig! ๐ŸŒŸ Our courtesy calls extended among our city councilors to thank them and provide first-hand updates on our current projectsโ€”specifically our search for Live Your Dream Award (LYDA) applicants and the upcoming culmination of the Youth Development Camp under our Access to Education (A.T.E.) program.

Our visits perfectly coincided with Philippine Councilors Week, celebrated during the first week of September. We had incredibly productive discussions with our local leaders:

Councilor Angelu De Leon encouraged us to join the Pasig City Local Council of Women to further expand our reach in serving the Pasiguenas. She expressed support in our search for LYDA applicants.

Councilor Simon Tantoco discussed his current proposal to remove the 2-year return service for Pag-Asa scholars. Thank you, Konsi, for listening to our insights! We took the opportunity to mention ALPABASA which we could discuss further in the near future.

Councilor "Coach" Paul Senogat reinforced the partnership awaiting SI Pasig as a CSO-accredited club through the Youth Development Camp. Our MOU signing is forthcoming!

Councilor Maro Martires warmly accommodated our impromptu, unscheduled call. Thank you for greeting us on our anniversary and Soroptimist Week, and for taking the time to meet our members!

Happy Councilors Week and a happy (extended) Soroptimist Week! ๐Ÿฉต

Present for SI Pasig: Charter President Susan Jhocson Macion, PRO Ardie Dawal, Zeny Santos, Linda de Leon, Louniza Napay, and our newest member, Zoe Tio. We were also delighted to be joined by SI Ortigas and Environs President Charisse Roldan. We missed our President Resel Guevarra Rsl Arraveug and Pres-Elect Dee Baterna Antang who had work commitments, but we have their full support.

A very productive day that ended beautifully with a late lunch and great company! ๐Ÿฝ๏ธโœจ

As we end SOROPTIMIST WEEK...

Thank you, Ardie, for going beyond your hosting stint! ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

SI Pasig is very proud that our PRO and Membership Chair, Ardie Dawal, was invited by Pasig City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office (CATO), in charge of the city Flag Raising Ceremony, to be one of the co-hosts last Aug 24, coinciding with the start of Soroptimist Week. In her script, she announced the celebration of Soroptimist Week, together with other events being celebrated by the city.

Ardie took the opportunity to seek an audience with the honorable officials of the city, including the councilors whom SI Pasig has worked with in some projects.

Ardie is a graduate of the Pasig City CSO Academy while SI Pasig is an accredited civil society organization (CSO) of the city.

We look forward to more collaborative work, as we pursue the Youth Development Camp - Rise of Responsible Citizenship in more schools in Pasig to start good governance among the youthl

Mabuhay, Ardie!
