𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆.♟️✨

Experiencing the Student Leadership Training Camp (SLTC) for the second time was truly a gift. As a senior leader, it allowed me to see leadership from a new perspective and reminded me that growth never stops. I once thought that attending it once was enough, but going through the experience again broadened my understanding of what it means to lead and serve others.

As the President of the PATTS U-Knighted Chess Club, I often view leadership through the lens of chess. In every game, there are moments when we move too quickly and make risky decisions. There are times when we lose sight of our plans, and times when we hesitate too long and run out of time. Leadership is much the same. We make mistakes, face setbacks, and encounter challenges that test our judgment and character. Yet, just like in chess, when the game ends, we shake hands, reflect on what happened, and learn from the experience.

That is what SLTC reminded me of. We should be proud not only of our victories, but also of our losses. We should be proud of the weaknesses we discover because they show us where we can improve, and proud of the strengths we uncover because they remind us of our potential. We should be proud that we persevered through challenges, survived difficult moments, and continued moving forward despite uncertainty. Most importantly, we should be proud that we learned.

Leadership is not about always having the right move; it is about continuously learning, adapting, and growing. We are entrusted with important roles in our organizations, and with that comes the responsibility to inspire, guide, and serve others. I am grateful for the lessons, experiences, and friendships that SLTC has given me, and I am proud to have been entrusted with the opportunity to lead with other great leaders.

Thank you once again, SLTC!
