"A Mother's Unseen Crown"
by Mariel De Los Santos

Her hands, they never rest,
Working hard, putting love to the test.
She gives her dreams away,
So her child can shine, day by day.

She skips her sleep, her food, her fun,
Her own desires, one by one.
For you, she bears the pain,
Washing away every stain.

Her heart, a silent plea,
For your happiness, wild and free.
A love so deep, a love so true,
Her sacrifice, always for you.

: SSGDC Election 2026 at NORSU Pamplona CAFF

The Supreme Student Government of Dumaguete City (SSGDC) Election was held on May 8, 2026, started at 8:00 AM at the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Pamplona Extension, particularly in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (CAFF). Students of the NORSU CAFF participated in the election as part of their responsibility to choose the next student leaders who will represent the student body for the upcoming academic year.

The election encouraged all students to actively participate in campus governance through voting wisely. Throughout the day, students visited the designated voting area to cast their votes and support candidates running for the different positions in the student government.

During this years election, only one partylist officially filed candidacy for the available positions. Since there were no rival candidates, students were given the option either to vote for the candidates or to shade abstain during the voting process.

According to Mr. Je Carl Anthony C. Alforque, β€œSince the partylist has no rival party running for the same positions, students may either vote for the candidates or choose to abstain.”

Despite having no competing partylist, the SSGDC Election 2026 remained an important activity that highlighted the significance of student participation, leadership, and unity within the university community.

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 | Two Golds, One Legacy: Archiel Labe Elevates CAFF’s Historic Pride

There are athletes who win medals, and then there are those who leave a legacy. At 19 years old, Archiel T. Labe, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student from the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery (CAFF), has become the latter. His golden triumphs in the 1500m and 800m categories at the Negros Oriental State University Intramurals 2026 are not just victories on the track β€” they are milestones etched into CAFF’s historic pride.

Archiel’s journey began not with ambition for glory, but with encouragement from someone who believed in him first. β€œThe person who motivated and became my driving force to join NORSU Intramurals 2026 is my childhood best friend,” he recalls. That trust pushed him to step beyond his comfort zone, sprinting for Pamplona Campus' pride.

Behind the medals lies a discipline that few see. Archiel trains six days a week, refusing distractions and focusing on both mental and physical readiness. β€œI set myself to focus on my training, and refrain myself from being discouraged and misaligned with my goal for CAFF,” he shares. Balancing academics with athletics, he embodies the quiet resilience of a student-athlete who gives β€œno mercy” to doubt.

Representing CAFF is more than a personal achievement. β€œI am so happy, not just only for me but for all CAFF athletes who proudly stand in a gap for CAFF’s pride,” Archiel says with gratitude. He honors his coach, chaperones, instructors, classmates, and schoolmates, acknowledging that his triumph is shared by all who stood behind him.

Yet Archiel’s story is not only about medals. It is about identity, confidence, and defiance against stereotypes. His message to younger CAFF students is clear: β€œDon’t hide your talent and skills in sports, show them that we aren’t just β€˜taga bukid.’ Let us show them that we are also victorious, and not a dust to be stepped on.” His words echo beyond the track, reminding his peers that triumph is born from hard work and belief in oneself.

Looking ahead, Archiel’s vision stretches beyond CAFF. β€œRight now, my goal is to bring honor not just for my home college, but for the entire University,” he declares. With eyes set on the Regional and National SCUAA competitions, Archiel hopes to carry NORSU’s pride to greater stages, proving that his golden stride is not just a fleeting moment, but the beginning of a lasting legacy.

Behind the medals, behind the cheers, stands a young man whose victories are stitched with discipline, friendship, and pride. Archiel Labe’s story reminds us that greatness is not only measured by the finish line, but by the courage to run for something bigger than oneself.

Two golds. One legacy.
And for CAFF, a historic pride that will endure.

From Ashes to Sunrise: A tale of Renewal

In ashes where the sorrow stayed,
Where hearts were tired and dreams would fade,
The night was long, the sky was still,
And silence spoke of broken will.

Tears would fall like quiet rain,
Each one filled with hidden pain,
Yet in the dark, a voice so near
Would softly say, β€œDo not fear.”

For though the grave seemed strong and deep,
It could not hold what God would keep,
His love was greater than the night,
His word would bring the morning light.

Then came the dawn, so calm, so true,
A sky of gold, a world made new,
The light had come, the stone was gone,
And hope was born with every dawn.

So rise, O heart, from all you’ve known,
You are not lost, you’re not alone,
For after pain and all you’ve been through,
God brings a life that’s fresh and new.

❌ Kauban mag-review

Midnight talk? Gusto. Mag-review? Ayaw.

It’s that time of the year na naman, where our doom scrolling suddenly shifted to "how to absorb 5 units of lessons in 5 hours." One minute you’re saying, β€œGabii na, ugma na lang ko mag tuon" and the next, you’re already staring at a blank notebook realizing you’re the one who’s blank!

It’s a constant battle between our desire for a 1.0 and our deep-seated need for an 8-hour sleep. In the middle of this midterms madness, having someone to keep you awake (and sane) is the real "study hack."

Dili lalim ang mag-prep, especially when you have more questions than answers. Pero para sa grado at para sa pangarapβ€”pang-harvat na! πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ“š

Happiest Birthday to the alchemist of the team. Like an ancient spell that helps bind all chaos into stanzas, you find the rhythm in our collective heartbeats. You turn the noise of our deadlines into the music of our discourse, proving that even in the rush, there is always room for a little grace. πŸͺ„πŸŽ€πŸŽ

| YMCA Honors CAFF’s Rising Leaders

The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Negros Oriental once again became a stage for excellence as it honored five graduating students from the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (CAFF), NORSU Pamplona Extension during its Annual Community Student Awards Program on March 20, 2026, at the YMCA Conference Hall in Talay, Dumaguete City.

This year’s honoreesβ€”John Christian C. Abuhan, Chester Dave Laurence B. Balbon, Alrey A. Calunsag (BSA), Janeth T. Elloren, and Bonrie F. Vergara (BSF), represents the new generation of agricultural and forestry professionals whose achievements extend beyond the classroom. Their recognition was not only for academic excellence but also for their leadership and service, qualities endorsed by the CAFF dean and faculty.

For former CAFF governor Alrey A. Calunsag, the award carried a deeper meaning. In a heartfelt reflection shared online, he credited the CREAM valuesβ€”Character, Responsibility, Excellence, Action, and Missionβ€”as guiding principles that shaped his journey. β€œThis milestone is not the final destination, but rather a bridge toward even greater success,” he wrote, echoing the enduring wisdom of Dr. Manila’s principle.

The YMCA’s recognition underscores the vital role of agriculture and forestry in shaping sustainable communities. By spotlighting these students, the program affirms that future progress depends on young leaders who combine knowledge with responsibility, and ambition with service.
