Currently working as an 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 while also freelancing as a 𝗕𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲.𝗶𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿, Sofialyn's professional journey was built through persistence, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning. Entering the industry was not without challenges, especially in gaining real-world experience in a rapidly evolving field. Through self-study, hands-on projects, and a willingness to keep learning, she gradually developed the skills and confidence needed to grow in her career.

Her time in the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 played a significant role in that journey. Beyond technical knowledge, the department provided mentorship, opportunities for growth, and experiences that strengthened her leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. The lessons she learned inside and outside the classroom continue to guide her both professionally and personally.

As a student, Sofialyn actively served in various leadership roles, including as 𝗖𝗽𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗖𝗖𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, Legislative Member, and CSS Treasurer. Through these experiences, she discovered that leadership is not about recognition—it is about service, accountability, and creating opportunities for others.

One of her most memorable experiences was being actively involved in student organizations throughout college. Beyond organizing events and fulfilling responsibilities, these opportunities allowed her to meet different people, build lasting friendships, continue learning, and enjoy the journey along the way. Looking back, these experiences helped shape not only the student she was, but also the professional and leader she would become.

For 𝗝𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗕. 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘆, Batch 2020, college was never just about surviving academic challenges—it was about growth, friendships, leadership, and creating memories that would stay long after graduation.

Now working as a 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁 at GreenCity Medical Center, Engr. Viray’s journey began with the same uncertainties many fresh graduates experience. Transitioning from student life into a professional environment challenged her to become more independent, adaptable, and confident in her own abilities.

Starting her career taught her that real-world responsibilities are very different from the structured environment of school. There were moments of pressure, self-doubt, and uncertainty—but through continuous learning, experience, and the willingness to step outside her comfort zone, she gradually developed both her technical and interpersonal skills.

Throughout her journey, the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 became more than just an academic environment. Through mentorship, leadership opportunities, and collaborative experiences, it helped shape her confidence, communication skills, adaptability, and sense of responsibility—qualities that continue to guide her in her career today.

Looking back, she shares that college never truly felt like a struggle because every challenge became lighter through friendship, passion, and shared experiences. Together with the 𝗣𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, they built a strong sense of camaraderie that transformed even difficult moments into meaningful memories.

One of the biggest chapters of her college life was becoming a student leader. From serving as Auditor, Secretary, Legislative Member, ICpEP.se R3 PIO, and eventually CPESS President, her leadership journey taught her responsibility, resilience, adaptability, and the importance of teamwork.

Behind every successful event were countless meetings, late preparations, rushing requirements for signatures, and sleepless nights spent making sure everything would run smoothly. While overwhelming at times, these experiences became some of the most rewarding parts of her journey—helping shape not just the leader she became, but also the person she is today.

🎓 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤
𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘴.

For some, success means building systems. For others, it means helping shape future innovators—much like the mentors and instructors from the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 who continue to inspire generations of students. Inspired by that same passion for learning and mentorship, 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗶 𝗔. 𝗭𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮, 𝗖𝗽𝗘, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮, chose the path of becoming an educator, now a 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 under the Department of Education.

Although she came from a highly technical and industry-oriented Computer Engineering background, Karen found purpose in teaching and guiding students through technology and programming. Transitioning into education challenged her to grow beyond technical skills and develop strengths in communication, leadership, classroom management, and student engagement.

Through continuous self-learning, adaptability, and the strong foundation she gained from the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, she was able to transform her engineering knowledge into meaningful learning experiences for her students. The department’s mentorship, collaborative environment, and organizational experiences helped shape not only her technical skills, but also the patience, discipline, and leadership qualities she now carries as an educator.

Like many students, Karen also experienced challenges in balancing academics and organization responsibilities. Programming subjects once became one of her struggles—but through patience, practice, and support from friends, she slowly improved. Ironically, the subject she once found difficult eventually became the very field she now teaches.

Beyond academics, Karen became actively involved in ICpEP.se, serving as 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 and later 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁. These experiences taught her how to lead teams, organize events, communicate effectively, and work alongside others toward a shared goal—skills that continue to help her today both inside and outside the classroom.

Sometimes, finding the right path means stepping outside the traditional way of learning—and that’s exactly what 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗖. 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗖𝗽𝗘, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮, did in his journey toward becoming a 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.

Back in college, one of Carl’s biggest struggles was the uncertainty of not knowing which career path to pursue. Instead of limiting himself to what was taught inside the classroom, he explored different areas in technology, continuously searching for something that genuinely interested him. That curiosity eventually led him to the world of cybersecurity—a field where learning never truly stops.

The journey, however, was far from easy. Self-learning became one of the most challenging parts of his growth. Through continuous learning, certifications, trainings, mentorship, and the support system he found within the Computer Engineering Department, he gradually developed the technical skills, discipline, and problem-solving mindset that helped shape his career today.

The learning environment and experiences throughout college encouraged him to continuously improve, adapt, and explore beyond the usual boundaries of classroom learning—qualities that continue to help him thrive in the fast-paced world of cybersecurity.

Like many students, Carl also faced difficult subjects such as Engineering Economics, but with the help of friends and continuous studying, he was able to overcome those challenges. Some of his most memorable college moments were the simple everyday experiences shared with classmates and friends—the late hangouts, laughter, and moments of “fooling around” that made college life meaningful and unforgettable.

Today, outside the world of cybersecurity, Carl enjoys running, traveling, studying, playing CTFs (Capture The Flags), organizing community events, and exploring business opportunities—continuously challenging himself both professionally and personally.

🎓 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤
𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘴.

Not everything has to be figured out right away—and that’s exactly what 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝘂𝘆𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬, shows through his journey from student life to becoming a 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 at 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻.

Back in college, one of his biggest struggles wasn’t just academics—it was figuring out where he truly belonged in the field of technology. Like many CpE students, he felt pulled in different directions, unsure of which path to focus on. Even today, that curiosity remains—but he has learned one important lesson: 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.

He also faced demanding subjects like Thermodynamics, which tested his patience and discipline. Through consistent practice and exposure to different problem types, he gradually built confidence and understanding. But beyond academics, some of his most meaningful moments came from late nights with friends, helping each other finish their thesis—𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙.

After graduation, he started as a Freelance Software Engineer, gaining real-world experience early on. Over time, he transitioned into cloud and platform engineering, eventually growing into his current role.

Along the way, he realized that growth isn’t about always being the smartest in the room. Instead, it comes from learning when to pause, reflect, and approach situations with clarity—leading to better decisions and stronger relationships.

Outside of work, Engr. Cuyugan live a life of exploration—climbing mountains, freediving, and exploring caves—while keeping pace with the ever-evolving world of technology. His current challenge? Finding balance between personal passions and professional growth.
